The irony is that certain people shouldn't be telling other people to F'cough.
Ignoring Covid, I don't want to slow down due to RSV or Flu either.

Just got my booster and flu shot double dose. I also made sure to tell my suddenly in recent years conspiracy theorist / Trumper / anti-vaxx friend about it just to hear his little rant.

Why are you here then? I had to watch a family member deal with significant long covid issues for a year and a half. I read this thread to see what's going on and see what others are experiencing.
If you dislike the topic, and aren't informed enough to understand that there are reasons it is still talked about just don't go in the thread.
Cancer has been around forever, would you go in a thread about Cancer and say "I can't believe we're still talking about this".

I continue to be surprised by the Calgary wastewater readings. I hope this trend of lower numbers continues.

My wife has long covid. She’s been unable to work and pretty much unable to live anything resembling a normal life since January 2022.
I can’t believe we’re not talking about this more.

Yeah, its fairly rare, it took me 3-6 months to get 'back to normal' after my first run in with the Rona.
But there are people out there who get a way worse deal.

Is there a way to look up which brand of vaccines we have? I guess I could call 811, but that feels like a huge waste of resources.
Just curious is all.

You can look it up on https://myhealthrecords.alberta.ca/ or with the My Health Records app.

So our entire household has had covid over the last week, and all 4 of us have completely different symptoms. 3yo son had a cough and not much else, my 6yo daughter has a fever and not much else, I had a headache and muscle aches but no fever or cough, and my wife just has the runny nose, sneezing thing. None of us had sore throats. So bizarre.
Oh, and the positive strip on the at the home tests went red almost instantly for us.

Some people do some really strange things with masks. I was on a flight and was one of the last people to board the plane and I got to my seat and the person next to me was wearing an N95 mask. I didn't think much of it because there was a handful of people with masks. We sit for a few minutes, pushback from the gate and taxi to the runway. The plane takes off and as soon as we are off the ground she takes off her mask. She sits there for 3 hours with no mask as people in the rows near us cough and sneeze and when we start final approach she puts her mask back on and wears it for landing and into the terminal. It seemed like really odd behavior to me.

Plane filtration is really good while in the air but not good while on the ground.

Wearing a mask on a plane is one of the easiest and smartest things to do. You’re in close quarters and there is no exertion so breathing is comfortable.

I think on a plane you really have to put your faith in the filtration being top notch, because every time I've flown with the Aranet4 CO2 monitor we've never had lower than 1300ppm in the cabin. Not idea air quality at all. And as Knut says on the ground it's worse, pushed numbers over 2000ppm.
Whereas in terminal buildings I've seen nice low readings from 500-700.

Just seems like odd decision making to go through the effort of masking at certain times instead of just wearing it the entire trip. The filtration system might not do much if a passenger behind you, beside you or walking by is sick, symptomatic or not, and happens to sneeze or cough potentially multiple times. If I was worried enough about the situation to have a mask with me I would wear it the entire trip.

Sure, it's also possible they are a victim of poor information, where someone convinced them the air turnover on planes is so good that it's one of the safest environments.
