No call in Benn for his slelwfoot or fine worthy slash and soft ass calls against the Flames which were against the flow of play changed the outcome of the game.

Can't disagree. On the other hand, the team has to play well enough to make bad reffing a non-factor. They are not doing that.

I picked the Flames in 7, so not too surprised to see them down after 3 games. I am not feeling confident in them at all though. I think they are inside their own heads which is never a good thing.
I was never too keen on them playing Dallas to begin with. They had a good second half of the season and were trending up going into the playoffs.

Next game they’ll come out tense and be down 2-0 by the end of the first. We’ll battle hard, get 40 perimeter shots on goal, score 1 and lose 2-1. It’ll be a moral victory though.

Not surprised with them I picked the series to go 7 games ot, it's by going through the ups and downs that will get this team good enough to beat Colorado or St. Louis. Still feel like they will win this never thought yet Stars have been the better team in this series. When Flames played Avs it was like wow we are outplayed not in this one.

With some more time:
Extremely unlucky loss.
Coleman and Toffoli need to swap lines.
Jarnkrok is not a centre, no matter how much they force it. Just doesn't have the puck moving ability or the strength on the puck. Wouldn't mind seeing Carpenter rotating in for him.
Hanifin needs some of his time cut. Dude does not play well with elevated stakes.
The bounces have to even out eventually, right?

On a cruise ship up in Alaska so haven’t been able to watch the games but this thread is pretty embarrassing. Fan base has wanted this team to fail all season, and first sign of some bad luck and all the negative BS comes out again.
By the looks of it it’s a defensive stalemate series that’s been fought hard so far and the team is very unlucky to have lost each of the last two as they have outshot and outchanced the Stars.
Excluding empty nets it’s been 1-0, 1-0, and 3-2 games, that’s about as tight a defensive series as I can remember in the NHL.
So far they are the 2nd best defensive team of the playoffs base on expected goals against.
Need to get the PP going and Markstrom needs to outplay a rookie and this will turn back around.

So many overreactions in this thread. Could easily be up 3-0 in this series.

If long time fans posting their frustration online bothers you more than the Flames not playing to their potential in the playoffs, I'd suggest that maybe you and people like you are the ones who need to question whether or not you're actually fans of the team. Are you really in it to cheer for and care about the team, or are you just in it to denigrate anyone who doesn't see things the way you do?

So many negative posts in this thread.
The Flames were never going to have an easy time against Dallas. Ever. They've always matched up well against us, it is what it is. Let's see if they can answer back after 2 tough losses. It's not like we are getting blown out. Oettinger is getting some lucky saves, I counted numerous shots that could've changed the whole momentum of the game.

We were up 2-1 against Dallas two years ago and lost.
This series is far from over. Let’s all relax a bit. If they lose tomorrow then panic.

Flames really just need to use their noggans better when it comes to what and when they put shots on net.
It's really that simple. That and I honestly think they need to take out Richie and never play him again. Ruzicka is Taylor made for this series IMO.

Thank god this is wildly inaccurate or I’d be worried. The flames have no one to blame but themselves for their scoring woes.
And that’s wonderful news. It means they can turn it around and take over this series. Running into a goalie in god mode, not so much.

Exactly game 3 was there best game in the series if that was a regular season game the PP 3rd goal would have stung, but we got 40 plus shots on goal we carried the play. It's just one of those games you do everything your supposed to but come up short.

I still think Toffoli was a good acquisition for the team, but I'm starting to think Jarnkrok was overkill, since he doesn't play center much if any better than his predecessors in the bottom six.
Might need to bump him to wing and plug Ruzicka or Dube there.

If things could be better or could be worse, then why be so upset about the current results when the series is far from over? The only reason I’m seeing behind people being so upset is from having unrealistic expectations for what playoff success should look like or how easily it should come.
Also, if anyone thinks the Flames are such a bad team come playoff time, then why can’t the converse be possible and Dallas is a better team come playoff time? Oettinger and the Stars playing really well AND the Flames needing to step up their game are not mutually exclusive as the doomsday crowd in this thread seems to be arguing.
We’re smack dab in the middle of a very close series and I think it’s really foolish to both equate this team to past Flames teams and jump to the conclusion the series is over. There’s no prize for pessimistically guessing correctly first about something that could go either way. In fact, I feel it’s the opposite. In my mind there’s no benefit to being a hockey fan or living life that way.
