Before my time but she was always my dad's go to example of a beautiful woman - "... parading around like Raquel Welch", "she's no Raquel Welch" etc etc
for the 60's, I say nobody was more attractive than Diana Rigg.

Goddam it. I was such a fan of how he portrayed Detective Munch. I was an absolute fanatic for Homicide: Life on the Street. It's also where I was introduced to Andre Braugher (AKA Pembleton). You can see them both in this great cold open. You get a good sense of the show's mood from a scene like this.

Yeah, he was a stand-up for a long time before he played Munch. I remember when he was a regular on Letterman and Carson. In fact, I seem to recall him going on Letterman to promote Homicide and Dave was baffled how he got cast in a gritty cop drama.
I saw a tweet from George Wallace that the first time he ever went on stage to do stand-up, Belzer was the MC who introduced him.

Yeah, that kind of sucks about Belzer. I was wondering about him after Ice T got his star on the walk of fame and was a little surprised to see he was still alive. That lasted about 2 days. I really got a kick out of him appearing on the X-Files when it happened. I too remember him on Homicide, then somehow he was the same character on Law & Order. Pretty cool.
