Even Tampa playing at 50% intensity probably has a 50/50 chance of winning game 4.

It'll be a sweep tonight. Why prolong the NHL season. Summer's here and I just want to see what's to come at the expansion draft.

I want to see whats to come at the real draft, seeing as that's a good bet as to when BT makes a big trade or shake up.
I want to be able to finally know what/who we're moving forward with and discuss the team in depth again.
Hard to do so right now with so many things up in the air still.

I've already made peace with the soul-crushing disappointment that next season is certainly guaranteed to be.

Maybe, maybe not.
Full season under Sutter means they'll at least be competitive.
7th-10th is my expectation though.. just missing again would hurt the most.

Tampa can GTFO. So can the Tampa-loving NHL.
If there was any justice in this world, every single person would turn the TV off as soon as the game ended so the NHL would see a complete 100% falloff in viewership for the celebration.

Can’t do it, seeing individuals celebrate their cup win is my favourite part of the season. Even when I hate the team.

From an optimistic perspective the Flames have a decent chance of finishing in the top 3 for the division. The California teams should still be weak, Vancouver likely won't be too good and Edmonton can be somewhat unpredictable. It is unknown what Seattle will look like. I can see the Flames in a battle for third at the very least.

I'm glad they are going to win the cup as the organization fully deserves it for being better than the rest of the league at nearly everything.

I can never cheer for the Lightning franchise for obvious reasons, although they were actually my 2nd favorite team up growing up until 2004. But strangely enough, I'm a fan of pretty much every player individually.
As you said, best D man and over all best D corps in the league. Best playoff performers and overall best forward corps in the league. Best goalie in the league who is only 26 (!!!!). Hell, Stamkos is supposed to be their franchise player and he's been pushed down the depth chart not once, not twice but by multiple elite teammates.
Did they muck around in a sleazy way to circumvent the cap to their advantage? Sure. But if the Flames did that and weaseled their way to the cup, I too would defend it tooth and nail.
Meanwhile the best our joke of a franchise can do this time of year to is decide which 12 overall pick we're going to choose and pray we don't woof the pick. Not sure what Yzerman was thinking leaving the Bolts but man, are they in great shape.

Yeah, who else would the Flames be competing with for the #3 slot? This is, of course, based on the massive assumption that the Oilers could finish next season in the top two.
Vancouver? They were worse than the Flames this past year.
LA? SJ? Anaheim? All three of the California teams are awful, and even with some improvement will still be languishing in the bottom-seven or eight Leaguewide.
Arizona? I have my doubts.
I think it is highly probable that the Flames will make the playoffs in 2022.

I'm over 2004. It's not the Lightning's fault the league didn't properly review the Gelinas goal in game 6. The reality is that the Flames have been in the finals three times and have faced only these two teams so if one of them is going to win I would hope it's the better team and not the team that won less games than the Flames in the regular season.

Arizona is out and being replaced by Seattle. That will be the real wildcard. Can they pull off a Vegas style expansion where they are competitive right away or will they be a draft lottery team?

From pure speculation on my part, I think Seattle is going to build from the ground up and use that cap space to their advantage.

No sweep, prolong the season. Less time in between the end of this season and Wednesday, October 6 of the next season. It would be nice to have another Friday evening game and have fun in the sun.
