I didn't understand why Vasek wasn't playing in the ATP Cup ahead of Felix? He's the hotter player right now.

I think Vasek probably decided to opt out of the ATP Cup because he is focused on re-building his ranking before his medical exemption runs out. A deep run in Montpellier could get him back inside the top 100. Vasek will play the winner of Gasquet / Lopez in the quarter-finals.

Because the ATP Cup is dumb. Pospisil already extended himself at Davis Cup. Remember hes almost 30.
