Bottom line is that it felt like it was a matter of time when the Ducks got the first goal and their enemy wasn't the Oilers it was the Clock.
For all of their praise heeping the Ducks have just been the better team and by a pretty good margin since game one, the Oilers have just gotten what they've gotten all season which is all world goaltending.
But at the end of the day, Talbot looked tired when the goals started going in.
The Ducks put 68 fricken shots on net, nearly double the Oilers and the number of misses was high.
As for the controversial third goal, that was on Nurse who lost body position on Keslar, and then forced him into his goaltender and then basically held him against his own goalie. But what can you expect from a defenseman who's just not very smart.
Whether this was a choke job, or a team that has a whole other gear that the Oilers don't have can probably be debated, but the Ducks seem to have leadership that the Oilers just plain don't have, and coaching that the Oilers just don't have.
As for the whole CBC thing, I guess there's some perspective to it in the joy of seeing Ron on the verge of tears, and Hrudey and Friedman and Kypreos creating a fictitious Narrative around McDavid saying lets go to Draisaitl.
Its not all positive in Oilers land, they haven't had an answer to the Ducks heavy game since game 2 and the Oilers are starting to wear down and break.
I'll give Talbot credit because he's been the best Oiler out there and he's 18 goals in 5 games for a 3.6 gaa and at the end of the day he's got a .919 gaa.
At the same time McDavid hasn't been all of that great, nor has Draisaitl except in spurts and the rest of the Oilers have been almost invisible.
But making McDavid saying "Lets go" after a team's loss as something heroic is just scrambling for a positive where there really isn't one.
I remember once I had to take my dad to the doctor and I said "Lets go", damn I didn't know that somehow Encyclopedia Britainic should have been informed of my awesomeness.

What i dont get about the teeth gnashing by the media and oiler fans is this...
That 3rd goal probably should not have counted, and i dont think its really debateable. The rub, however, is that the 3rd goal should have never been needed to tie, because the Oilers 3rd goal should never ever of been allowed to occur after Perry took a whack right across the face which set up the Caggiula marker.
For some reason everyone focuses strictly on the last Duck goal because it happened in the last minute. It was merely a goal that countered another one that should never ever have been allowed.
I think it's pretty debatable. Kesler pushed in, so no interference there. Nurse was still pinning him down so he couldn't really get back up easily. Anyway, look at Talbot. He didn't go nuts - if he'd really been interfered with he'd have reacted more.

Its Kesler...there is no debate on his intention.
regardless, it still goes back to the point that the last goal shouldnt have been required to tie the game.

Can't wait for Sunday's game.
Can the @NHL referees steal three wins in a row?
I would not bet against them. They have all the answers.
Surprised he's able to type yet without mashing the keys in rage, certainly showing his objectivity as an impartial journalist covering a playoff series. Any checked on the other, more passsive aggressive, windbag, Terry Jones this AM?
Remember these two impartial journalists have votes in the NHL awards, and that sort of credentials and local team bias is reason a) why Iginla didn't win the Hart over Theodore that year with the Montreal writer not having Iginla anywhere near the top of his ballot.

Its a beauty.
He calls it one of the best games in Stanley Cup history that turned "pathetic" because of the missed goaltender interference. And just because he is who he is, even mentions the Flames drought in Anaheim like it has some sort of bearing on things.
Lost in all of the McDavid talk, Lucic, Talbot, refs, whiny Oiler fans, Kesler being a dick etc is the fact that POS Nurse has had a terrible series. It brings me great joy to see that sack of #### make a bad play that led to the OT goal.

Hilarious. "One of the greatest games in Stanley Cup history". Why? Just because the Oil had a 3-0 lead at one point? Ducks completely dominated for 40 minutes of that game. The only thing that made that game memorable was the Oilers' epic choke job with under 4 minutes to play, which we now know is an NHL record for failure in a playoff game.
I know this clown writes for his hometown paper, but that's easily one of the most ridiculously biased and pathetically whiny articles I've ever read from a so-called professional sports writer. Just awful.

The Oilers' media and their fans are like that team with the little annoying nine-year-old kid you grudgingly play shinny with.
"Waah, we deserve to win, we have Connor! Think of little Connor, he makes us deserve the win! Connor makes us so amazing! How dare we not win, you can't do that, we should always win because we have Connor! You'll make him and our fans so so sad if we don't win!"
