You are missing the point. They ARE ill-informed, woefully so. The problem seems to be with their ego. This.
Most have been concentrating on how bad a person Trump is and for good reason.
That's not necessarily what people in the US will worry about when voting though.
I put it this way,
Trump exemplifies what can be wrong with people.
Clinton personifies everything that is wrong with US politics and the whole political system.
If somehow Trump finds a way to win this, it's not because a lot of people identify with him and his bombastic ways, its because they just want to blow up the way this thing has been for decades now. People hate whats happened in Washington no matter who/party affiliation has been in the White House.
It's a fascinating dichotomy when it comes to Trump and the average American voter.
