Thanks. Between water/snow sports, scrambling, and working in the oil field, I'm likely going to go with something beefier. At the very least I'm thinking drop protection.
Do you use a screen protector on that as well? Or just the case?

On a similar note, I just ordered a 6. Any suggestions on a case? I'm using a lifeproof on my 4s. Love the protection but the headphone jack dongle drives me up the wall.

I'm thinking of getting this one.

Telus had it online, so I might head into the store and check it out to see if I like it.

Just the case. As mentioned with it being in a belt holster it doesn't really see many scratches. Besides I'm not a fan of screen protectors. I find they make the touch less effective, but the biggest reason for me is that I don't want to put something very ugly on my phone to prevent it from getting a little ugly.

You've clearly never seen a phone covered in bitumen before.
I get what you're saying though. I much prefer the feel without protection. Keep going back and forth on it but I'm thinking it's likely a necessary evil for me.

The name is hilarious too.
Your above link... It's about $8 cheaper on Amazon and has free shipping. Might be even cheaper if you keep looking

If for whatever reason you want an otterbox, I personally found Tech21 cases superior to it if solely from a dropping perspective but it's also far thinner than an otterbox.

I had it for the iphone 4 and I was comfortable throwing (let alone dropping) my phone 10 ft at an object (assuming impact was on case). I was usually more concerned about breaking a window if my aim was off. (I demonstrated this for fun for friends on a regular basis). I used to loudly tap my phone on a table with this on. Unnerved people to no end. I accidentally demonstrated it tumble weed style once too and it rolled and hit a sunbather almost 50 ft away. Quite embarrassing. D3o is amazing stuff. In a nerdy nutshell explanation, it functions like a Newtonian fluid. Super huge recommendation for D3o protection if you can live with the style.

Have had a Spigen case on my 5S and love it, would highly recommend Spigen cases.

Seconded. Picked up a Spigen case from Amazon after reading a review that listed them as one of the better iPhone 6 cases available.

Their screen protectors are good too IMO.

Question - Can you go into an Apple store and have them hook you up with a new iPhone on your Telus Business account? Or do they strictly do non-carrier sales?

They can do it for your carrier.

The lady at the Telus store in Westhills yesterday laughed when I asked her if I could get an 64gb iphone 6 without preordering it. She said it would take about a month to order one in, I would have assumed that by now they would be available somewhere

So I have had a few reports of some of my VFX crew bending their phones over the past couple of weeks and even came upon this online, http://www.oneofthenine.com/. Is anybody else noticing any issues with their phones?
I know my guys are terrible with the way they treat their phones so I am not overly surprised but the website was kind of eye opening. Obviously it is hard to prove what someone does with their devices but as one girl said to me she hasn't done anything different than she did with her 5s and she had no problems with that.

Fair enough but I have 3 of 13 6 or 6+ that are bent, no if, ands or buts about it. These people didn't just shell out a few hundred dollars to bend their phones. Our corporate rep (NeoCell/Telus)has a back log of complaints right now and are saying upwards of a month to even start processing the complaints. Told we should get replacements but at this point I have no idea.

My theory is that it's not necessarily the pocket and "normal use" that's bending the phone. I've noticed that my SO sits on my lap quite a bit and if my phone is there, that's over 100 lbs of person on my phone and against my thigh. I usually immediately tell her to stand up so I can remove the phone from my pocket as it is quite uncomfortable to me. I could see that bending a phone easier than me trying to pry the phone out of shape with my hands, or blaming the pocket tightness.
I think most cases (minus maybe silicone ones and maybe certain bumpers) should be able to take the tension from the pocket, but I don't know if it could handle being sat on.
I'm not defending Apple, I'm just saying, if you notice this "habit", you might want to keep it in mind to keep your phone from being possibly bent.

No idea what they are using for cases, I am out in Burnaby and MPC is in Yaletown and I only go down once in awhile. My sys admin has seen the phones though and confirms the bending. I'm not investigating how people use their phone just whether or not I can get them replaced. At this point I have no idea what constitutes normal usage.

Has anyone used any 3rd party unlocking services with their iPhone 6? I purchased an unlocked iPhone 6 for myself from the Apple Store and I've just ordered a locked iPhone 6 from Rogers however I don't want to wait the 90 days to unlock it as I'd like to give the phone to my wife.
