I have to ask, some players were given $100 extra, or $400 extra from the list above. Why not just $231,000 for a Delatte for example? Why the extra $100?

Their cap allotments are based off a percentage as each subsequent pick is a number slightly less than the last.

Of the 6 unsigned guys that are from rounds 11 on that are the better guys, if the jays can find room in the budget to sign 2 or 3 of them, it would be an even bigger coup.
They currently only have just over 3.5 million committed to all the guys except Stroman, Smoral, De Jong, and Alford. They have about 5.7 million dollars to get those guys signed and extra dollars left over for the rest of the guys.

Mike Wilner tweeting this morning that the rumors of Vlad opting out of his comeback with the Jays are true.

Damn, was really hoping to see him live at least once as a Jay.
Can't say it's a huge blow to the team as he likely wouldn't have provided much for the big league club, but I'm still disappointed.

I'm kind of indifferent. Would've been cool to see him in a jays jersey, but he just couldn't wait till interleague was done as we likely would've kept him up from that point on.
I hope Morrow's injury isn't severe.

Ugh - the Morrow injury is exactly what the Jays didn't need right now. The staff was thin as it was, and losing Morrow only hurts our chances of hanging around for the wild card spot.
As of today, the Jays are 4.5 back of the division, with the backend of their rotation up next against a pretty solid Nationals club... Could be one of those moments in the season that goes unnoticed, but plays a major role come end of September.

As much as I think Alvarez, Drabek and Hutchison are all capable I just don't have that much faith in them. Losing Morrow really hurts and maybe could be the impetus for Anthopolous to go after another starter.

I'm surprised they didn't call Vlad up for at least this Nationals series to have a Major League look at him (assuming they knew about his 'deadline')

I doubt it. We have about 5 different pitchers that could slide in (not effectively but not terribly either). It just basically means we are not going to be competing this year again.

The most important takeaway from this...Vlad's agent's name
From MLBTR:
"The Blue Jays have released Vladimir Guerrero at his request, the team announced. The 37-year-old outfielder issued the team an ultimatum earlier today, and they decided to release him rather than call him up the big leagues. Bean Stringfellow, Vlad's agent, said his client is not retiring and will seek employment elsewhere"

As much I think it was a childish attitude by Vlad to pick up and leave, you have to think there was some truth to the mill that the Jays were dicking him around. If true, I'm glad he stuck to his guns and left, but I'm disappointed I didn't see him in a Jays uniform.

They couldn't even call him up just for a week? Bad decision on both sides.

I'm ok with it from the Jays' perspective - Gomes, Lind, and Cooper all deserved it more than Vladdy.

Are you serious? Lind? I could somewhat see Cooper, but Gomes and Lind? AA is known as a man of his word, but if management did promise a call up and didn't stick to their word, it's nice to know they can't hold a gun to his head, and he left (and subsequently, they have egg on their face). Management has to be held to their word in any work environment.
