I think he views Walt as too much of an egg head. I really don't think he has the slightest clue about Walt. If he were looking into Walt, he would have found the truth pretty easily.
In my mind, Hank would only suspect Walt but be reluctant to look into it further because he doesn't want to believe that his brother-in-law with 2 children would ever do something like that. I realize it's a stretch, but it's mostly a hunch.

Loved the finale and agree it could have been a decent ending to the series.
I had season 4 of Dexter ruined for me by a friend that went as Rita post-season finale for Halloween. I wasn't happy.

It's stories like this that make me watch the shows during their first run. I love getting thru a season of a show I love in 2-3 days as well, but if an ending like that were ruined for me, I would be livid.
I watched Six Feet Under well after it had ended and didn't know much about it. I'm halfway thru the third season and my brother goes, "You know they show how they all die at the end right?"
I wanted to get up and strangle him. The ending was still amazing, but that entire final season, my head was swirling with ideas of how they were gonna end it.
Since then, I try to watch every show on its first run. I hate spoilers.
Did anyone else find that old lady in the nursing home hilarious? "Hello! Hello!" I was laughing pretty good at that. I'm wondering if she'll make an appearance next season. As far as I can tell, she's the only one at the nursing home still alive that can place Walt there on the day of the explosion.
I'm thinking next season Mike or Hank might start poking around at the home, forcing Walt into a decision about whether or not to take out an innocent old lady.
Speaking of appearances, I was thinking that with the Walking Dead's help on the last episode, I wonder if Gus will be doing a guest spot on Walking Dead. Would be kind of neat to see him and Hector looking for Walt in the Walking Dead realm.
Yeah, the old lady at an old folks home is going to be what brings Walt down? I think not. I highly doubt the old lady is brought up again or even mentioned.
The people in the lab theory is an interesting one though. Did those people know Walt's name though? They could probably give a description, but good enough to get the DEA onto Walt? I don't know.
I had thought the video tapes are somewhere to be found. I am not sure about this, but I wonder if Gus left any kind of "in-the-event-of-my-unusual-death" tell all.
I really think Hank has been looking into Walt for a while now. Hank was known to be good at his job, not just a meat head so I figure after the drunken dinner talk followed by Walts suspicious behavior during the stake out, that he sort of sort of clued in.
I think Hank has to know too. I don't think he quizzical, suspicious looks at Walt when he makes some comment is telling. If he does know, he might just be using Walt to get at a bigger fish - getting Walt would do nothing for his ego, that would be too easy, and not really accomplish as much as if he was able to get Gus or whoever else is higher up than Gus was.

We got to see how awkward some of those conversations between Hank and Walt were this season either around the dinner table or when they were looking at Gale's videotape and notebook. Imagine how Walt would have handled conversations during the stakeouts. There had to have been several hours all told where Walt and Hank would have been in the car together with nothing else to do but chat. That's a load of time for Hank to get a sense that Walt was being deceptive or otherwise odd whenever the conversation turned to Gus.

If anything, you gotta think Mike's return could be problematic for Walt and Jesse. Plus, Mike probably had other guys working for him that were keeping tabs on Walt. Mike and Gus usually had a pretty good idea of where Walt was and what he was up to most of the time, especially towards the end when Walt's time was up.
Half way through season 4 so I haven't read this thread. Started with the pilot about a week ago. What a show. Such a great plot and Bryan Cranston is absolutely fantastic. Some of the most visually stunning moments in any show I've ever watched.
If the Flames get down early in San Jose tonight I might actually bug out for a couple of episodes of Breaking Bad!

Pretty big let down knowing I have to wait several months for season 5 now.
What an ending. Man. I got goose bumps on the last shot.

You watched 4 seasons, so that means like 42 episodes(S1 was 6 eps) in 8 days? So you averaged more than 5 episodes per day?
Impressive.
Or not, depending on how you look at it!
My wife was recuperating from surgery last week and we had the long holiday weekend, so I was off work for 6 out of 7 days in a row and had plenty o' time for Walter White.
Frankly, my wife wouldn't stop watching so it wasn't even me pushing the pace!

If there is one show you don't have to make an excuse for cruising through, it's Breaking Bad.
I'm currently watching Mad Men, I just finished the first season. Watched it in about a 7-10 days. I really like the show, I like it a lot... but Breaking Bad had me hooked.

I've gone on marathon streaks like that as well, you kinda feel guilty about all the sitting that's required, but once in awhile, no big deal.
i watched a whole season of the Shield in one day with a lady friend. Think about that though. 13 episodes in one day. Pretty gross, but it was rainy and cold out, one of those fine Vancouver winter days.
