Agree that his career doesn’t tell that story. Markstrom is Markstrom. The 1.000 games are every bit as valid as the .786 ones. Just additional data points that continue to define Markstrom.

Markstrom hasn't been his usual self, but a lot of the goals in this series are due to defensive breakdowns. If you let Draisaitl, McDavid, and Kane set up tic tac toe plays as they enter the zone, it's going to be bad. These are some of the best scoring forwards in the league. The defence should never allow any of them to have the types of clean shots they are getting.

####ing play Vladar. Should've played him last game and the series would be tied

It’s all Marky’s net. Sutter won’t change the lineup from last game…unless Tanev comes out again.

After thinking about this, i'm going to contradict what I said in the GT yesterday, you have to stick with Markstrom. If we have any hope of winning or at least forcing 7, he has to find his game, and as good as I think Vladar is, he is not a proven backup this time a year, if we had Halak or Jake Allen then ya but thats not the case.

Plus tomorrow, the first period 10 minutes will tell us all we need to know in regards to whether the Flames want to fight back or if they want to crumble up and die.

If the team ends up getting bounced from these playoffs I'd rather go down with Markstrom.

I think the Flames forwards need to do more on both sides of the puck. Easy to say that our goalie has been bad but the team in front of him has also been bad. They really haven't moved their feet and finished their checks. The forwards need to be better. That's been the difference in the series. The oilers forwards have been better than ours.

We have a Vezina finalist in our net but yeah, let’s play the guy with less than 30 NHL games to his name instead.

I get that Markstrom hasn’t been his best but come on. Vladar (rightfully) will not start a game this series. Markstrom gives you the best chance to win. If you’re in a scenario where you need to win every single serious hockey person is picking Markstrom 10 times out of 10.

The calls for Vladar to start are reactionary and ridiculous.

This is entirely on Sutter. In almost all of his limited starts Vladar looked solid, maybe if Sutter had simply played him more he would have been able to truely prove himself and Markstrom wouldn't have been burnt out for the playoffs, which has been an issue since he came into the league

If Markstrom doesn't catch form, we can't win 3 straight anyway. Changing the goalie is giving the series away, Vladar isn't ready to win 3 elimination games in a row.

It's not just this series they're looking past. They're already looking past the cup to how Connor McDavid is forever reshaping the sport of hockey. In case you didn't know, McDavid is like a combination of Gretzky, Lemieux, Orr, and Crosby, but better. He is to the NHL's all-time greatest what Megazord is to all the other power ranger robots that make up its arms and legs.

How blessed we all are to witness his greatness!

So you're assuming Vladar would stop all the poor goals Markstrom has let in, but are you sure he'd also make all the tough saves Markstrom has as well? The breakaways, the one-timers, etc?

I'm not.

Oh god, I see it now
That was a typo.
I meant if Markstrom DOESN'T catch form, as in we should stick with him, and hope he plays to form instead of going to Vladar.

Game 4 was my fault. Just before they tied in the third I told my wife we need a short-handed goal and a Mike Smith special. I should have been clearer that we needed them to be separate goals. I'll do better next time.
