Out of everyone I've ever known, I'm the best at efficiently packing as much into a dishwasher while ensuring everything gets clean and I minimize the opportunity for water to collect in pot handles and such. I may take a video one day. I think you guys would be impressed.

If you made a whole series of videos called "living the Sliver life" (or "Gold from Sliver" is an even better name), you would have the biggest channel on YouTube within a year.

It can be pretty painless. Just pick up something thoughtful and go have a date night. Doesn't require expensive gifts. Just something that tells your person that they are special to you. That's really all they're looking for out of the day.
I'm just thankful they now have a card section for "new relationships". Not sure I'm ready to say some of the things they've put into most of the v-day cards. I found that amusingly awkward trying to navigate around.

most people I know feel special when given gifts of love outside of times the calendar says someone has to. Valentine's day is stupid.

Sure but I think the correlation between people who don’t do things outside of Valentine’s Day and those who complain about having to do something on Valentine’s Day are highly correlated

Yes, I have a little bit of OCPD, but I don't think it's unreasonable at all to aim for a 95% clean dishes out of the dishwasher standard (via loading). Instead, I get like 60-85% at times. Utensils with scrambled egg "polymers" on it. Garden salad leaf pressings on utensils and dishware. Oil, oil, oil because someone loaded some #### that went through the rack and blocked the spinner from spinning for the entire wash.
And this isn't just a millennial thing. I deal with boomers who knew how to load dishwashers, decided one day to load #### haphazardly and now claim "expensive" dishwashers (entry level) suck at washing dishes and it's a rip off to have to buy more expensive dishwashers to get that #### off when they haphazardly load it.

I used to think that "smart" people meant that they knew how to do other things as well in life. Then I worked in an office with "smart" people, engineers, programmers, executives etc. so many people cannot load a simple dishwasher properly.
I have seen people just put cups in right side up, plates just stacked together and place on top of the rack. Silverware tossed in the top rack. Plates and bowls not sorted by type, just put in however they wanted. I was shocked to see how grown people could not figure this stuff out.

I am surprised that whole generations have grown up in the age of knowing that Valentine’s s Day is a bit of a marketing sham, yet still go through the motions.
Anyway, cheap post-Valentine’s Day candies so… I am fine with that.

It's all marketing and all that, but I also like doing things with my wife. So, while we don't do anything spectacular, it's a good excuse to spend a little more time with her and go for a dinner or make a nice one at home. There are much worse things than this, IMO.

Here’s the thing though…Replace Valentine’s Day in your post with any other holiday/event-day and it’s the same thing.
Every single holiday is commercialized these days. Valentine’s Day just gets bad rep lol.
There’s a day to celebrate mothers and fathers so why not significant others as well?

Wouldn’t the logic be why do we have days to celebrate mothers and fathers and in getting rid of Valentine’s Day we can get rid of those too. It’s just less socially acceptable to say you don’t like Mother’s Day.

The disappointment you guys would experience at my boring life where I'm just basically a Sim going around being lame almost makes this worth pursuing. Who doesn't want to watch an average middle-aged guy drag himself out of bed every morning and trudge off to the Foothills Industrial Park to post on a hockey forum even though he doesn't like hockey or any other organized sport?
