When people say a vote for Biden is a vote for democracy... I’m not sure that’s a good enough selling feature.

Lately democracy hasn’t been working for the majority of people because of money and corruption.

Watching these morons going up against the actual military, or even a police swat team, would be absolutely hilarious. My guess is it would look something like this:

What the F kind of country allows its citizens to walk around like this? Every once in a while I wake up and realize how de-sensitized we are to crazy stuff like this.

Same one that allows this:

One of those situations represents a break down of societal norms in America. The other is an accepted societal norm in America.

The "protests" were accepted by wide swaths of the American public - and certainly by the institutions.

They are both norms.

Strangely, Norm MacDonald has gone on a Twitter streak lately defending Trump, arguing compassion for the President in the face of his Covid diagnosis. I mean, it's admirable, and very Canadian, but for a guy that has always been so apolitical this is strange.

Trump's the guy you're making a case for, Norm? Really?

He’s taken some weird Trump apologist, anti-atheist stance.

Norm MacDonald has always been on the conservative side of things. He was raised as a Christian army brat, so it stands to reason he would lean that way. Just listen to his jokes about gay people or the "#metoo" movement, and you can see it. He was a pretty big George W. Bush and Bob Dole supporter too. He called Reagan the best president in history and said he was renouncing Canada for not supporting the Iraq War back in 2003.

He hasn't really changed.

Regardless of politics, he is a funny guy though.

You drew a false equivalence.

Someone said it shouldn't be legal for rightwing terrorist organizations to brandish weapons publicly in a fashion that can only be described as intimidation and incitement. And that its a reflection the failing political structures that it is legal.

You reply saying they allow that, because they are the type of country that allows rioting, arson, vandalism, assault.... I pointed out the behaviors you sighted are in fact illegal and are prosecuted.

You replied with an article where they say they are prosecuting a minimum 45 people for the very behavior you say is allowed, with more cases that were pending review or additional evidence. It's not allowed, people are going to jail for it, this isn't hard.

I don;t think it was clear at all, personally, but I do apoligize now that he has cleared it up. I mean he literally used the words "I didn't vote for Biden". But again, good to hear that he meant he did votre for Biden but was voting for him as an anti trump measure.

He also used this line, which made it pretty clear to me:

Although I’m sure that Biden and the DNC will see it as a vote for him and their platform and policies. But they shouldn’t.
