I highly doubt it. The Republicans won't cook their golden goose. He's not going anywhere and every day that passes where his actions and statements are more and more normalized serves only to convince me he's going all four years. They love him, he moves the needle so far that their compromises will seem reasonable in comparison. He's literally the perfect weapon to implement the Republican agenda.

But to what end? He is getting nothing done, and it's mostly because of his ineptness, and being a moron.

Republicans are no different than anyone else, they are slaves to the numbers. Trump's approval is already at historic lows at this point in his Presidency, and he's basically trying to drive them even further down. And remember the worst parts (i.e. least popular) of his agenda are still to come. They'll use him as long as he's not a major drag on them, but even that's coming faster than we could have thought. And you always must remind yourself that President Pence is still their ideal scenario. I still think he doesn't last that long.

Also Spicer's briefing today....yeah must see TV. He's either going to be the most combative he's ever been, or borderline suicidal.

Yeah, I'm pretty pessimistic, but you have to think if his approval rating is hovering around 25% come midterm season that we'll start seeing Republicans abandon ship.

Can you imagine if both Trump and Pence get implicated in the Russian scandal? President Paul Ryan isn't a pleasant thought either to me.

Sure they'll give lip service to abandoning ship but they'll vote for whatever he puts forward and continue to pursue their agenda. I don't believe Dems will be able to take back power in the midterm elections and the Republicans won't actually impeach. They'll say tough crap in the media and things will move on as normal.

Its not about midterms, the pressure point will occur before this. Its whether impeach Trump republicans primary pro trump house members or Pro Trump republicans primary impeach Trump house members.
House members will follow whatever path leads to them winning their safe seats.

I hear what you're all saying, mayhaps living here has made me more jaded and cynical about it all. In a logical world yes, he'll get impeached eventually. In this world as it exists currently the constant barrage of ridiculousness will lead to outrage fatigue and Republican policy reshaping the federal government. Time will tell but I don't see the change coming unless it's so black and white that Republicans are forced to act. As long as there's grey area to muddle through nothing is changing.

Trump will not be impeached for the Russian stuff, that opens up too many issues for the GOP, plus there's very likely enough plausible deniability that ousting Trump that way is going to be hard. But using the emoluments clause is a lot easier, and a lot more likely to work when it comes to impeachment. Much harder for him to escape from that one, and a lot more palatable for the GOP to go that way. But at the end of the day if the choice is keeping Trump and getting slaughtered in the midterms, or dumping him and saving the House, we all know how it's going to go. If there's one thing Trump can never change, it's politicians always choosing self survival.

Remember the first 100 days isn't some cliched election thing. That is the time you have to put plans in place for them to have tangible effect at mod-terms and in many programs before the next presidential election. You don't get things done in the first 100 days and you don't get things done period. The GOP is running out of time and it looks good on them.
