It was a decent first half and the positive is that come tournament time we won’t be making changes for the sake of making changes. Each change they made they looked worse

Regardless of score, it's super cool to see Zator out there!

It'll give Marsch a good basis line going forward, and it's a front-row seat at the depth beyond the starting 11.

100% and I think it’s needed. Everyone knows what Davies/David/Staq can do. But guys 10-26 on the roster is where the fun begins

Unfortunately I agree...though I think the nerves also got the best of him today as well. On the same pitch as Van Dijk, Memphis etc., whereas ~5 years ago he was playing for U of C.

Copa America will be a very difficult test. Obviously not gonna judge off of one game but teams like Chile and Peru will be laying everything on the line. Chile has not been on good form and is not at the same level as the team that won back to back tournaments 9 years ago but these teams consistently show up and give the big teams challenges. This is not another gold cup and is a big opportunity for Canada. Hopefully Canada has the same level of urgency as the South American teams do or it will be a quick tournament

Probably would've been ideal for Marsch to get Panama for the 23rd time in the last 5 years as an ease in, rather than right into the fire vs the Dutch, but yes, this team needs quality opponents to get better.
So fine, for now.
They will need to get better though, the Dutch and French won't bother to cover expenses for a team like Canada to come play if they are going to be walks in the park.

Same starting lineup today as against the Netherlands. Love that. Except for Crepeau in net

What a fantastic performance. That was an almost perfect game by Canada against a juggernaut like France. We even should have had 2-3 goals with such close calls.
Incredible display going into the Copa America.

Our men's national team just drew France in France. Cannot believe I am typing that.
Second half against Netherlands aside I think this pair of friendlies was very successful.

Good result no matter how achieved.
I recall in 1994 when we tire Brazil at Commonwealth, the Brazilian press beside themselves with anger at the Brazilian performance.
My guess is the (never dramatic) French press won't be happy tomorrow with #49 tying up the WC finalists ahead of the Euros.

A very promising thing in today's match with France:
It wasn't the top guys who had stellar games (although they were solid). It was the secondary guys who shone like diamonds - Cornelius and Bombito on the back were rocks, Millar down the wing with some bombastic and top-flight play (including hitting the crossbar on a rocket of a shot), and Kone playing like an absolute threat through the middle. This also isn't mentioning Shaffelburg who continues to go under the radar, and with Ali Ahmed, Jacen Russel-Rowe and De Fougerolles knocking at the door.
Also, it feels fantastic to finally have Crepeau in net. He's not the greatest goalie out there today but he certainly is a step up from Borjan (IMO).

Feels so good to get a huge result and have what feels like a pretty stable starting XI again. Yes, it was only two games and things move quickly but the fact that Marsch only made the swap at keeper suggests that will be the lineup for the Copa (few changes here and there depending on opponent I imagine)

Didn't get a chance to watch this game yesterday, which sucks because of how good they played based on the posts in here... totally going to watch it today on OneSoccer in the background at work today!

Zator and Ugbo dropped from the final roster, as two MLS players get called up.

Cap tying Olywaseyi makes a lot of sense as he still has Nigeria as an option, is rising dramatically the last two seasons and Ugbo is already married to Canada. I thought Russel Rowe looked like a very good player when I've seen him play too

Hours after Herdman says little except he wasn't involved, allegedly story comes out the Mens team saw drone video of a Honduras practice.
The embarrassment is less about the cheating (as troubling as that is) than it is the lying about it. I think they could've gotten game film from 20 prior games that Honduras played, to show how they play a 4-4-2, not needing drone footage.
But yes, clearly it was a CSA approved tactic, not just one rouge coach or team doing this, from all the stories coming out.
