Conner misses his shootout attempt, whines at the ref. The greatest leader that ever led. Greasers win. Post-game coverage to come. 80% for the Oilers, 20% for the rest.
Yup, and here's Ken and Evanka with the Oilers cheerleading. Then off to the Pete Rose story. An Oilers preseason win takes precedence over the death of Pete Rose.
Praising McDiver for a 'hit' he threw. Connor threw his forearm up into the guy's face. Imagine if somebody did that to that little baby. Five game suspension.
I am a bit worried they might have a decent player in Arvidson though. He actually might play defense.

They'll train that out of him in a jiffy.

You’d almost wonder if there were more than 2 canadian teams from watching Sportsnet if you didn’t follow the NHL
The main reason I was glad that Edmonton lost in game 7 was that I didn’t want to have to listen to the sportsnet gang all summer. Good lord it was nauseating during their failed run
The simplest way to deal with it is to stop watching them. I haven't watched Sportsnet or TSN in years and I don't feel I've missed anything. There are a multitude of places to get analyses on the Flames. If you're looking for validation, you won't find it on Sportsnet/TSN; they cater to the largest fan base(s).

It doesn’t help that you’ve got Flames fans who seemingly watch every Oilers game including preseason.
Anyone else waiting for this Oilers team that's supposed to dominate? kill everything? Burn down all the villages and walk easily into Gary Bettman's loving embrace at the end of the Stanley Cup Playoffs?
Cause they've been pretty meh in the pre-season, and yeah, I don't think the preseason means much.
But they haven't been very good with any combination of defensemen. They've been absolutely bombed out in three games so far. I'm just waiting for that game where the Oilers win by a touchdown or two.
Still think the Oilers are going to be the leagues biggest disappointment.

Not so sure that any true Flames fan, would willingly watch anything Jack Michaels or Louie calls. They are beyond awful at their job unless you are an Oilers fan.
This is the last year I feel they have a legitimate chance of being a contender. They’re already the oldest team and they have no youth to replace guys like Hyman and Kane who will be nearing their mid-30’s after this season.
65 million dollars will likely be locked up in 7 players once McDavid and Bouchard re-sign, and they will be the only players in that group under 30.
This is the 2011-12 Canucks season for them. One last shot, and then falling into rudderless mode trying to regain their place on the mountain.
The Edmonton Oilers captain had just been told outside the locker room by the NHL’s chief content officer, Steve Mayer, that he had won the trophy, and that he was expected to accept the trophy despite having just suffered the most agonizing, consequential defeat of his life to the Florida Panthers.
“I wouldn’t have gone out there for a million dollars,” he later said.
So the greatest player on the planet walked into the silent dressing room and sat at his stall, staring into the middle distance, trying to hold back the flood. On his left, Leon Draisaitl reached over and grabbed McDavid’s left leg and patted it. On his right, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins put his arm around him. And that’s when it all landed — the grind, the work, the blood, the sweat, the fears. All of it adding up to one goal short of glory. And he couldn’t hold it back anymore.
McJesus wept.
At that point, a voice rang out, “Get the f—ing cameras out of here.”
