U.S. President Donald Trump's commission to investigate possible election fraud on Monday put a freeze on its effort to collect sensitive voter data from states in the face of growing legal challenges.
In an email, the panel's designated officer, Andrew Kossack, asked state elections officers to "hold on submitting any data," the commission said in court filings.
Several state elections officials confirmed receiving a letter from the panel stating that it would provide further instructions after a federal judge had ruled on a complaint filed by a watchdog group, the Electronic Privacy Information Center (EPIC), which is seeking a temporary restraining order.
nevermind...I had read the e-mail train before they got the whole thing posted.
So Trump Jr. has all but confirmed Russia was actively trying to help the Trump campaign and the Trump campaign was actively and willingly accepting such information as it came to them.
Not sure how this helps Der Pumpkinfuhrer and his people.
Of course they'll just continue to focus on "well the information wasn't good so no harm no foul!". Which of course is BS.
As noted, nothing real will happen until the Republicans are in danger of losing their jobs (Senate or Congress). I'm sure we'll be seeing more and more information like this coming out with no real ramifications. Dealing with Trump and his cronies falls squarely on the American voter, and I simply have little faith in that group as a whole.

Rob Goldstone tells DJT Jr. that “the crown prosecutor of Russia” (and later describes him as “Russian government attorney”) is offering “to provide the Trump campaign with some official documents and information that would incriminate Hillary" & that it was “obviously very high level and sensitive information but is part of Russia and its government’s support for Mr Trump.”
DJT Jr. replies: “If it’s what you say, I love it, especially later in the summer.”
... and he sends it to Manafort and Kushner. That's crazy. Like bat#### insane crazy.
The NYT article, apparently they'd contacted Trump Jr. for a comment about their article, he asked for more time, then he scooped them by releasing the information himself.
I do not understand why he released the information himself, unless he knew there was zero chance he could deny anything.

Probably that... he knows he's caught so by releasing it himself he gets to put on a veneer of transparency, rep like it's no big deal, and deny the NY Times the scoop.
The sad thing is though the support he's getting for releasing the emails. The cult is eating it up as an act of "transparency" and of course bringing up how Hilary would have just deleted all her emails.
They couldn't care less about the context of the emails.

It's certainly damning. And yet nothing will come of this unless Republicans suddenly grow a backbone, which isn't likely. That Australian reporter was right. The America that we once admired is disappearing quickly.
I mean that whole clique is self serving. I'm looking for motive?
The New York Times was already going to publish the emails. Apparently they had asked him for comments before they would release their article with the emails and instead he took the time to release them on his own to be "transparent."

Apparently NYT was going to release them anyway, so he did it himself. Which makes sense.
I just don't understand how this isn't looked at as treasonous behaviour by literally everyone. If you still stick by your guy after this, you don't deserve to live in a democracy.

In theory... of course you don't know precisely what they have so you run the risk of giving up details that they didn't have alongside the ones that they did.
