I can't speak for others but I have never read the comics but I still quite enjoy the show. But then again I have noticed I don't take TV as serious as most of the people on here, I just shut off my brain and enjoy.

The important thing for me to keep in mind is to treat the show like a comic book. Similar to Sin City.

KC, I can understand that point of view, so what would be a storyline that would catch and intrigue you?

Negan, IMO, would want Alexandria intact so he could take what he wanted first then burn it to the ground.

Or keep them intact so that he can collect tribute indefinitely.

A couple of directions I think they could go:
- An effort to get rid of the walkers. At some point for society to come back, you'd have to kill all the walkers.
- Looking for a cure. Sort of what we thought Eugene was doing.

The problem with the Walking Dead is that halfway through the 6th season it still doesn't know what kind of show it is. Serious, cartoonist, comic book, it splashes between all without ever settling in. It's jarring to watch a show that has yet to establish itself so far in.

I wish Eugene was actually a scientist and they were actively looking for a cure and how it all started.
It's just a pure drama show now that happens to have zombies in it.

This would be interesting, some of my favourite parts of WWZ was the brief descriptions of the engagements against against the Zombies.

I really do think the show needs to start showing an end game. TV series tend to have shorter shelf lives than print literature, and I do get the sense that it's almost time to put this one in a stew.
Having said that, I read that Negan makes The Governor looks like a girl scout. Maybe the end game is that Rick's crew actually loses in the end. That would be quite a twist.

It's still one of the most highly watched shows. I'm not sure why the studio would just end it prematurely.
The issues its having now are that the show is a drama. The problem is we're stuck with a bunch of new characters that no one likes or finds interesting in any way. Hopefully, the introduction of Negan breaths more life into the drama. We're also likely to see the Alexandria residents be thinned out. That should address a bunch of the current fundamental problems.

I doubt they're going to end the show any time soon. It will go at least 10 seasons unless people stop watching it. It's not like it has a planned out beginning, middle and end like Game of Thrones or Breaking Bad. They're going to milk the teat until it is a blistered and infected mess.

A cure for those still living? I forget exactly Eugene was getting at in that episode but I thought he meant releasing a virus into the zombie population to kill them off?

That was by far my favorite part too. Did such a good job with that. Really put into perspective the challenges of defeating millions of walkers.

I think an interesting line would be concrete evidence of a vaccine or a safe area. The story then becomes about how they get to the vaccine or the region - battling all the way along and having to convince people they meet up with that there is a solution.
Some would not believe
Some would believe
Some would believe but not be willing to give up their current position of power and influence
Some would want to seize the vaccine or region for their own purpose

Hopefully Negan's crew thins out the current characters. So many of them are just dead weight. I'll probably watch until the end, but the show needs a serious shot in the arm.

I'm totally stoked. Can't. Wait.
I tried 'Fear the Walking Dead' to quench my blood-thirst but it was no good.

Agreed,
I couldn't get into it, I may have to marathon it once it pops up on netflix.
No spoilers but reading initial reviews of the midseason premier. Hold onto your butts, it sounds amazing.

I wouldnt waste your time. I tried, I think I watched 4 of the 6 episodes.
If you remember life when The Walking Dead started, I barely do, but I'm assured that there was such a thing, then you remember the hard seasons, the seasons where they didnt 'get it.'
They didnt slaughter walkers with reckless abandon or understand how things really were. And you hated them for it. They were weak!
Thats pretty much Fear the Walking Dead. All of it. Maybe it will get better. I hope that if it, as a series, fizzles out that they end it by having all the characters be gruesomely devoured by the dead and then show up in the Walking Dead so that we can watch Rick and Daryl slaughter them again.
Now that would be good times.
