I think Subban is locker room poison, and GM’s know it. Not so long ago, if you looked up “PK Subban fight”on YouTube, it was videos of him fighting teammates in practice, or having verbal altercations with them on the bench during games.

He’s a great guy in the community, but not as a teammate.

Yeah, it was kind of telling that when it came down to shipping out either Gallagher or Subban, they sent Subban packing.

Who would you have him replace? Wingers on the bottom two lines are likely 4 of Coleman, Dube, Pelletier, Lewis, Lucic.

I feel like Sutter values Lewis quite highly and can't see that happening. Probably would take Pelletier's spot.

Pelletier doesn't have a spot.

Based on the forwards for the team currently, it seems management absolutely has a spot that’s his to lose in training camp, with the obvious hope that he performs to expectations and takes the spot. If not, and without Ruzicka signed, they have 11 forwards. So unless there is another signing coming, a trade to add a forward, or they see another prospect filling a forward role, he definitely appears to have a spot.

I took in a lot of games at the dome last year and Lewis brings 100% every night. I feel he is underrated.

Lewis is a way better player than stats show, Darryl understands this IMO. Also another cup winner.

also, incredibly handsome man

cup ring doesn't hurt either

I like Lewis fine but he is a high mileage player nearing the end of his time. He is a maximum effort player but it takes that just to keep up now. I can see him sitting a lot this year.

Guys like Lewis were needed by Sutter last year to show the entire team how he expects them to play. The last person who we need to complain about is a 4th liner that works as hard as he does.

Ya and to add to that the end of the cycle for a guy like Lewis is when the team shows that they don't need that example anymore. When that happens, he'll be in the press box more often than not.

Lewis brings his A game every night and is a solid player in the lower part of the lineup. We don’t need change for the sake of change. The lineup has had a lot of change as it is. It is not a bad thing to have some players who did play last year for the organization to help with the transition.

Night and day difference from having Leivo and Simon the year before, who only played on the 4th line because they couldn't crack the top 9. Those guys weren't going to give maximum effort on the 4th line and be so willing to kill penalties like Lewis did. I fully expect Rooney to bring the same thing.
