I had strep about ten years ago and still the most sick I’ve ever been. So much pain for like 4 days, couldn’t eat or sleep or speak. Was so weak and out of it and dehydrated. Even after the sore throat cleared I felt weird and off for weeks.
I know I’m pretty fortunate to have that be my “most sick” story but yeah, was
Pretty bad.

In a weird twist of fate, usually the crazier the artist (Van Gogh, Dali, Cobain, MJ) the better the art.
I don't think it's weird at all if you think about it. People who live normal and balanced lives are rarely the ones who are pushing the boundaries of anything...they are too busy living happy normal lives within a defined spectrum. It's always the people who live on the edges, or have a singular manic obsession, that tend to move things forward or create truly interesting things. This is true for most fields, but 10x in terms of creatives. Unfortunately it's often expense of other things (relationships, health, sanity, societal acceptance) but you don't practise an instrument for 15 hours a day for decades, or live in abject poverty just so you can paint, if you're "normal".
You look at the most successful creatives (whether they be artists, musicians, writers, comedians), there's almost always some personal tragedy, or mental health or obsession, or chip on shoulder from poverty or class division, that drives them to do what they do. The "crazy" is what makes them so good.

In this first comprehensive and judicious treatment of Wagner’s anti-Semitism, Katz analyzes the composer’s attitudes in their own time and place and in the context of Wagner’s life and aspirations. He traces Wagner’s feelings toward Jews chronologically, showing that the composer was ultimately obsessed by a deep-seated Judeophobia generated by conflict with his Jewish mentors and competitors. But he argues against reading the later emergence of Nazism back into Wagner’s life and work. While not absolving Wagner from responsibility for his views, Katz contends that contemporary Jews have paradoxically and uncritically adopted the Nazis’ assumptions about Wagner. Katz argues that Wagner’s music is untainted by his anti-Semitism, that there is, in fact, very little in Wagner’s art that, without forced speculation, can be related to his racist views.
I loved MJ and so it does hurt that I have chosen not to listen to or perform his tunes anymore. You can take Wagner out of my cold dead hands.
Since when do we only consume art from people with moral purity?
So long as the art isn't explicitly about things i disagree with I can separate the artist from their work.
I have no issue with appreciating the art, Elvis was one of the greatest showmen to ever live and the first bonafide rock star. But I think it's important to not gloss over his faults either, he hurt a lot of people

You need to watch Tar. The classroom scene is essentially this debate
This is also just a new justification in a long line of people justifying the boycott or blackball of an artist. Prior, it was because the artist was a different race, gender, religion etc. Communists in the 50's etc.
We as a people have always associated art with the person and what they represent.
I would also argue that as time moves forward, the less an artist's "person" is judged
Obviously everyone is flawed. All sorts of people who have created beautiful things, or have done good things, have also done some really bad things or had some pretty abhorrent beliefs.
If someone can look past those things and separate the two, I guess that's up to them - but they shouldn't be surprised or offended when someone else can't do that.
People used to separate art from artist, but I find myself skipping MJ songs on Spotify/radio because he was a pedophile.

Rock and Roll Part II by Gary Glitter comes to mind. That song is seared into my memories growing up, an iconic song turned iconic sports anthem ... turned virtually unplayable in pretty much any venue because of Gary being a little too willing to slow down in school zones.
I heard it played in a restaurant or bar recently -- can't remember which -- and my first reaction was "Awwww yeaaaah" followed by "Hold up, isn't this Gary Glitter? They play this still?"
Can we all just agree, as a country, when entering personal address details onto any website from now until forever, postal codes will either have a space or no-space between the first and last 3 digits?

I'm setting up a new piece of equipment. The instructions say 'as seen in figure 16'. On the same page are figures 14 and 15. On the next page are figures 14A and 14B. The next figure in the manual is figure 22. No where in the manual is figure 16 (or 17 to 21 for that matter).
It's been pretty clear from the start of this manual that they made it for the original model of this machine, and haven't updated it since, but now it's just getting ridiculous. It's practically useless at this point.

I have an error notification on my car. It says a certain light is malfunctioning. But the words "cornering light" for the error do not match any words in the car instruction manual.
Physically I cannot figure out which light bulb or signal is malfunctioning because none are burnt out and they all have light/seem to work. There are something like 50+ lights/LEDs on the outside of the car (literally) and I've narrowed it down to the 4 most probably that might be throwing the malfunction error (Signal light, DRL, angel eye or fog light). But physically, they all look like they are functioning.
Then I read online with people with the same car that I need an H3 bulb for replacing the lamp to get rid of the error error, but then I type in my car on certain websites and some H3 bulbs are compatible vs some are not because halogen vs LED conversion etc.
Then I read the instruction manual online and it says it's actually an H7 bulb and H3 is not compatible. Then I physically go back to the car to try and see which one to replace, but they all have light. So I am back to having no damn clue which one might need to be replaced PLUS I cannot easily look inside the light housing to confirm if the bulb is an H3 or H7 without removing the bulb (which I fear I'd break it) and why would I spend an hour removing a functioning bulb just to learn about that?
I'm basically concluding this might be an electrical gremlin and there is no actual bulb that is not working.
Not only is the wording discrepancy annoying, but at the same time, what the flying ####?? 50+ lights on the outside of a car? I don't think I've owned any other car that has more than 10-12.
Poor quality manuals from Chinese manufacturers are sometimes so bad they're a hoot. I still remember the manual for an Electrohome DVD player I bought about 20 years ago was nigh incomprehensible. By then Electrohome was a "zombie brand" owned by the same distribution company that sold Citizen electronics (not watches), and who offshored the production to the cheapest Chinese supplier they could find. The player itself was also a DVD burner (I didn't have a PVR...), and the interface for setting up recordings was atrocious. The manual was so bad it was essentially useless, and I figured out how to program the recording settings by trial and error. The machine only lasted for about eight years before it became a glitchy mess that I replaced with a Sony Blu-ray player.
