Edit: screw it Ill tell you what I think anyways.
I have followed London quite closely this year. They have always been my favourite OHL team. I've seen a good amount of Domi this past year and the kid is good. Very good. By the looks of things he still has a lot of room for improvement. Which means he will only get better. Give him a couple years and I think he could be the best player from this draft.

Not trying to be rude, but I seriously doubt that

Nice assumption. I never once said we should take Domi 1st overall if we had it. In fact if you go through all my collective posts you wouldn't see anything even closely related to that. If we had 1st overall, we would be stupid not to take Jones or MacKinnon. That doesn't mean that Domi can't be better than either of those two, or anyone else from the draft for that matter. Max is going to go somewhere around 14th, would be my guess. If Calgary were to pick up another 1st round pick in that range, that's where we should take him. Not with #6. Even if we had #1, we definitely don't take him there.
How about next time you ask for clarity rather than just boldly, and wrongly, assume.

Chip Alexander @ice_chip 13m Hearing Canes could trade No. 5 pick and move down on draft day if their draft target is taken in top four picks. Unlikely Canes to move up.

I see this could as bad news for us. A team with the Staals' and Skinner at Center, I imagine, would be alot more prone to taking a defenseman or winger with their pick.

Ok my comparison was silly but no more silly than your suggestion it is easy for a 17 year old to say I should and could play my 6 3 height and actually do it in the NHL cause he had the thought or is young enough to do so. Albeit out of context I think Barkov's game is more than becoming the next Lucic.

I see it as good and bad. I think they are eyeing Nichushkin and have no desire for Monahan, which is good for us. It's bad because if Nichushkin is gone and they trade the pick, someone else could potentially swoop in and get Monahan.
I don't see us trading up to get the 5th to solidify Monahan as I don't think our late 1st is a good deal for us, and a 3rd rounder may not be enough.

If you believe he will be the best player in the draft you take him first.

Just because I think he'll be the best player doesn't mean I would draft him first. I simply wouldn't. Just because I think he will be the best, doesn't mean I know he's going to be the best. Like I said, the draft is about betting, and Jones or MacKinnon are your best bet. That doesn't mean Domi doesn't have a chance.

Or could it be we already have something worked out with them? If we offer players and picks then it is possible we could be targeting to move up to 5 while keeping 6th.

That appeals to me big time but I doubt Calgary has enough assets to sanely get the deal done. I would be over the moon if we came away with Monahan/Lindholm and Nurse from this draft. This would require a scenario where we keep 6th and pick up 7th or 8th or trade down to 7/8 and pick up the other. We get 2 higher caliber players and still have the ability to pull off a solid tank job for the next 2 years. I agree this draft is important big time but the next 2 drafts will more likely have Calgary landing the franchise all star talent. IMO this draft will provide some of the building blocks for a strong future 2nd and possibly 1st lines.

Canes GM has stated they will trade down if they can get a top 4D and will not move down too many spots. Whether they keep the pick or trade down I believe they will take Nurse.
Carolina have top end skill and a proven goalie. My guess is that Carolina could be looking to add a top 2 D and a top 9 forward for depth.
It will be very interesting to see how this situation develops.

With the Staal's and Skinner @ Center and Semin extended, i have no doubt their target is Nichuskin. Semin is your liason to integrate Nichuskin.

Do you really think Ward is all that proven? He had one good post-season 7 years ago. When I hear people mentioning him for the 2014 Olympic team it makes me cringe. Dude has marginal career stats and is an average goalie at best. Sorry to de-rail but he is one of the most over-rated players in the league IMO.

Slightly above average would be fair.
