100% with you. I feel like he would still garner a very good return, while he still has some control left (2 years) and still has age on his side.

Yeah, he just seems like he's a different player now. It doesn't look "slump" like, it looks kinda permanent. He's still semi young I guess, but I don't see a star or elite future at this point.

If the name recognition gets you something significant back, might be worth considering.

Vlad the past few seasons is why you never hype up anyone based on a season or two. Especially in baseball. Guys fall off the map year after year after putting up amazing seasons. Vlad had everything going for him and just seems to not work at optimizing his approach and adjusting. Before I thought you live and die with him but now I just think you perhaps cut your losses. Varsho perhaps you give him another season. Springer I'd love to deal too. Guy is soft, will continue to decline defensively, and just doesn't have many passionate games like today's kick out of the game. He needs more passionate pushes instead of laughing off in the dugout each time he strikes out.

With the Padres struggles this season, I wonder if they'd entertain a Soto for Vladdy deal? Change of scenery type deal and gets the Jays the Lefty to pair with Bo going forward.

Rushing Manoah back was dumb to begin with. I think most expected he work on his stuff and perhaps lose weight over a couple months. He was gone for maybe 3 weeks? How are you supposed to learn a new habit so quickly?

Glad to see them send Manoah down to ensure that he can work more on his game and not impact the schedule of other starters too much with three off games coming up in the schedule. Let's hope Ryu can look sharp in his return this weekend.

I would change the management team, before that type of thing occurred

They need a plan, doesn't seem like they any sort of direction.

I wasn’t a big fan of the rushed call up. I guess that they were trying to assess their pitching needs going into the deadline but it wouldn’t have been my preferred way to handle it.

The good news is that the time that he spent up with the team shows that he has certainly made some progress and isn’t a completely lost cause. He really just needs to get his mechanics locked in. He seems to have gotten a bunch of his confidence back and I think he showed that when his mechanics are solid, he can pitch really well. He came to the big league team with almost no developmental investment and now they are going to need to make it.

I wouldn’t be crying if there was a management tear down but I also wouldn’t be for it. They did decently evaluating pro talent with their signings generally. Where they have gone wrong is their development base and their propensity to deal away too much draft capital. I’m still really angry about their some of their recent trades, as well as the overvaluing of outfield defence at the expense of batting. But all in all I do see the eye for talent is average which isn’t a bad thing. Just not sure if average will cut it to house a winner.

Is there a stat out there that shows how many times a team has a hit a HR with runners on base?

Curious to know where Jays rank. Or even one that shows with 1 man on, then 2 man on, one with 2 outs etc
