I gotta laugh out hearing the Big East is considering adding TCU. The closest school to them in the league is 900 miles away in Louisville. They are also 1,400 miles away from NY.
Quote:
“We are in a situation that requires us to evaluate and analyze all our options including expansion and television," said a source close to the league who requested anonymity. “There are a dozen or so schools that we’re looking at."

Piscataway, NJ (Rutgers) is 1141 miles away from USF
those are big east schools and USF seems to do fine. I'm sure TCU would be okay.

Agreed, geography isn't really a consideration anymore. Teams aren't taking buses to games, a 500 mile trip and a 1000 mile trip really aren't that much different. It becomes an issue for lower profile sports, but for football it's a non-issue. I mean State College is nearly 1100 miles from Lincoln and that didn't pose a problem for Big ten expansion.

Crazy ending in the LSU/Tennessee game!! Vols win!
edit: maybe not...
nope, LSU wins... bizarre ending.
LSU's got the ball at the two with a good 20 seconds left, make a bad substitution that forces them to snap the ball with two seconds left, fumble the snap, recovered by Tennessee. Except the Vols had too many men on the field, as they tried to make their own substitutions to counter LSU's. LSU gets their do-over and scores.

The SEC is so over-rated it's hilarious. LSU needs to drop hard after that embarrassment, win or not.
Stewart Mandel said it best on twitter - "when talking about Alabama's SEC "grind", leave LSU and Tennessee out".
Alabama is unquestionably great, Florida is still a huge question mark (although we'll learn a lot about them tonight), Arkansas is a good team, but after that it's a whole lot of mediocrity.

Strangest ending to game ever? Yikes what a debacle.
And I agree Jay...the SEC is usually a complete powerhouse, but not this time around. It's early still but Im watching Georgia trailing Colorado on top of everything else. The Fla/Bama game will certainly clear some things up, but I suspect that the Tide roll the Gators...as I think they are by a wide margin the best team in the country.
I would say this year the PAC 10 trumps all. Tonights Oregon/Stanford tilt should be a beauty....the over/under is 65!!

Oregon just cannot get a stop. At this rate they'll hit that over/under in the first half.

Oregon's defence is so frustrating. Just get light up in the first half then play unreal in the second. I believe they've only allowed 7 points in the second half of games this year.
Also LaMichael is awesome.

Yeah, the slow starts have been sort of a concern for Oregon, but they really turned it up on both sides of the ball after the first quarter.

Ugh... I just came home from that ass kicking we received from bama and went to bed. It was a long weekend for me at the hotel. I worked a 14 hour shift friday with all the check ins for the game then had 5 hours off and worked another 9 hours and then went tailgating before the game. I think my body was just toast.
Hopefully next week when I drive 10 hours home to Gainesville we play a little better.
thank god I didn't pay for my tickets last night.
