I as well hope there's some nod to the Joker. Joker's always lurking around in the Batman stories.

Plus it would be a good acknowledgment to a great actor.

Maybe they could have Batman wake up in the country and he see's a tent, he wanders over to ask for help and sticks his head in, then he screams "oh my God" but all growly like, and falls down a ravine, then you hear Joker laughing.

Yeah agreed. Ive thought it would be cool to have Batman go to the Joker in Arkham for advice. You could have him in the shadows and either use some lines that didnt make it into TDK or have an actor imitate his voice.

Scrawny kid who needs to pump venom super serum to have superhuman powers....

Captain America(or Barry Bonds) should be the villain in the dark knight rises.

1) Wouldn't it make more sense for Bane to destroy Batman at the end of the movie, that allows you to nicely remove Christian Bale from the series but open the possibility for him to do a brief cameo if they chose to move forward with a new trilogy instead of another reboot. Have him bust up Batman break his back whatever, and at the end you can have Wayne in a Hospital bed bitter and angry and crying for vengence and searching for a new Batman, maybe someone that shows up in this movie. You know end it with the whole "You have to take my place speech" while we see scenes of Bane taking over the city.
I disagree. Maybe Batman is getting tired of keeping an eye on a city full of people who don't care for him? Remember at the end of last movie Batman is basically a fugitive so I don't see people welcoming him with open arms this movie. If Bane puts the boots to him early it gives him the perfect reason to say screw this, Gotham is on it's own. Then it sets up an arc for him to come back triumphantly and the people of Gotham will be begging for him to come back.

If the rise and fall of Batman isn't perfect super hero plot material I don't know what is.

I really don't want to see Batman laying in a hospital bed crying and telling someone else they have to carry on what he has started...How lame! I have to believe that Nolan is better than that as it would be such a cop out.

Nolan doesn't have to end this trilogy so they can continue it, these 3 movies have been so good there is no way that another director would have the balls to come in and try to pick up where he left off. The next director would have to know that they would always be in the shadow of Nolan and I would hope they would want to go and make it their own.

All I know is, I want some Goddamned Bat Cave, and I want it now!

I hope the climax of the movie is batman killing Bane with the Giant Penny.

GIANT PENNY! FATALITY!

Could you follow Dark Knight Returns, but rather than the mutant alien that originally kicks Batman's ass, only to have Batman come back with more strategy to beat him, have that villan be Bane?

Dark Knight Returns would also follow the rise from villan (or elimination of superheros) to hero.

Just a thought, no idea what's going to happen, but I can't wait for it

I wonder what the chances are of the next director being Nolan... Johnathan Nolan?

He was a writer for both Dark Knight, and Dark Knight Rises (as well as the Prestige). I believe that would be a great way to pass the linage on to someone we know could keep the Batman legacy going without going in the wrong direction. I really could see them wanting to change the series into more family friendly crap, as that is what sells today sadly.

except The Dark Knight broke box office records, and since its success every other superhero is being made/rebooted with similar darker undertones.

Um, what?

Without adjusting for inflation, The Dark Knight is the #3 highest grossing film of all time in North America (behind only Avatar and Titanic). If Warner Bros. wants to maximize their revenues from future Batman films, they'd be crazy to turn away from Nolan's winning formula.

I agree, but you could of said the same thing about the Tim Burton Batman films. They were both very dark when compared to say the Superman movies, but they obviously went in a different more family friendly direction when Joel Schumacher was given permission to ruin the series.

The only movies that had higher box office figures in the 80's then Burton's Batman were either Star Wars entries, or movies directed by Steven Spielberg. Despite all this success Warners went in a different direction, and that gave us Batman Forever and Batman & Robin (ugh).

I could honestly see Warner's screwing up again and trying to reestablish Batman in a more PG rated environment, especially if they intend on using him in the Justice League movie.

They screwed up Batman once, and I could easily see them doing it again.

Jon Nolan isn't a director though, he I purely a writer. He writing a sic-do movie right now in fact. Although if he wrote the next batman movie I think it could work with a compatent director.

We used to say the same thing about Pixar.

Let's not forget about David S. Goyer who with C. Nolan does the story.

Goyer has done The Man of Steel (story/screenplay), TDKR, TDK, Batman Begins, Blade (which is still the best comic book movie of all time IMO), Dark City.

He has a great resume.

Yes he would work too. Not really a director either, but he has a bigger resume than J. Nolan. I'd be happy with either of them as they are capable of carrying on C. Nolan's image of Batman. Plus I still hope Christopher is involved in some capacity, and he'd be more than willing to give ideas to people he knows/trusts to create the next trilogy of Batman movies (I assume their will be one).

Edit: Maybe wait and see what Goyer can do with the Godzilla franchise. Pick him if he can get a decent movie out of that train wreck of a franchise.

The leather suit looks like Catwomen, but the head piece is 'meh'. I hope their is a more significant cowl to come, because this would be disappointing.

I have a feeling, given that she is riding the Bat-Pod, that this shot takes place later in the movie after she and Batman have teamed up and he gives her some gear. I'm assuming that she probably has a different look earlier on. This is obviously all speculation on my part.
