Cade Littler is taking Reschny's spot on the PP, and he just assisted on a NoDak goal
Abram Wiebe is also on the first PP unit
Wiebe just assisted on a second goal on the same 5 min major
2-0 NoDak.
Max Plante still held off the scoresheet
edit. Littler did the work on the wall, but didn't get an assist; Wiebe assisted on both goals

"Positive thing is I don't think there's anything major structurally," UND coach Dane Jackson said. "It's early but I think it looks more like a contusion than ligament damage, so that's the initial look, it's positive. But we don't want to get too far ahead of ourselves. Doc did a basic evaluation here. I'm sure we'll get some images of it. But I think that's the positive — it didn't look like there was any ligament damage."
After the game, Reschny was walking gingerly on his own power — without a brace or boot.

####ing ridiculous.
If Reschny is out for the year that's three top prospects (two recent 1st rounders) missing huge time in what is a crucial development season and all with LBI's that could be a detriment to long term health and performance.
Look at the step back Zary has taken this season after the multiple LBI's that ultimately ended his season last year.
Just brutal.
Exactly why CC has to keep on piling up draft picks like he has been. You have to have prospects lined up and coming so your rebuild doesn't get derailed by injuries and surprise underperformance, or doosh nozzles forcing their way out like the last rebuild with Mony injuries, Bennett slow development, and Fox being a POS.

True, but for me he's already missed crucial development time in multiple seasons and continues to do so. He's reached the point for me where I don't expect much down the road but if he turns out it'll be a pleasant surprise. Kind of what Kuzmenko has done this season.

I thought Honzek established himself well last year as a middle six, shut down guy with size and speed.
He elevated his floor substantially for me, and had a great season.
Assuming he recovers as expected I think he's a secondary piece you can pencil in going forward.

I agree. He's a decent player when he plays, although nothing earth shattering. I mean, 21 points in 52 AHL games at 20 is not going to turn many heads, but for me his play is not really the problem, it's the fact he can't stay on the ice playing. Hopefully that changes.

I think we are all in general agreement on his upside but to be fair to him that was his 19/20 year old season in the AHL

Not what you want to read after Potter's season was finished by injury. Hopefully the hockey gods offset this with a lottery win.

I don't think the prospect injury situation is that dire.
Potter and Honzek's shoulder injuries are less concerning (other than missed development time). Should be a a straightforward recovery for both of them.
Mews' torn ACL is concerning, because skating his one of his primary attributes. That one sucks, but is at least an area of significant organizational depth (RD).
Reschny's injury doesn't seem so bad. Zayne managed to recover and is on a plan. Others like Suniev, Stonks, and Basha are back playing in their respective leagues.
Gridin, Wyttenbach, BRZ, Kuzentsov have all shown signs of being legit top-6 forwards / top 4 defensemen.
All is well. Conroy and company can grab their gamebreaker at the top of the draft and keep shooting for the fences with their other picks.

Sounds like he will be fine with no detriment to his long term health. Just a contusion. Doesn't sound like any tears of breaks. That's a very good thing.

While true, I hope they rest him if they need to.
