I don't know. Maybe he thinks that's a team a goalie away from competing? No idea.

Well I mean they do have Stutzle, Tkachuk, Norris, Batherson, Giroux, Pinto, Chabot, Sanderson, Brannstrom.
Solid pieces that should be improving annually.

I’m sure Ottawa uses Alfredson to recruit all Swedes. Easy peasy lemon squeezey.

If it ends up being Ottawa, I'll chuckle a little bit when the return ends up being Chychrun.
That'd be a good trade for the Flames in a vaccum, and at the same not at all what I'd want them to do.
Hoping we get another 1st!
It's pretty easy to see why Marky would be open to Ottawa. That team is on the upswing, and with players in their prime they could go from zero to hero really quickly with the right goalie and an addition or two around the perimeter.

If you request a trade it’s a little unrealistic to limit the prospective teams to SC favourites. Any team that inquires thinks they have a shot though.

If it is for a 1st round pick this year they may wait until the draft to announce. NHL likes the shock and awe at the draft for 1st round picks being moved.

And almost every gm would want to wait and see who is there at the pick

I'd take #10 over anything else rumoured/possible.

Honestly, I’m trying not to get too excited about aquiring another pick in the top-16- I just don’t see it happening.

Most years i would probably be the same but i think their are deals to be had this year. We have several items teams want and they have motivation to do it.

And every year, they never have a goalie so it doesn’t matter.

Especially since Stanley cup favourites are typically favourites because they have a goalie…

Exactly. The two top teams in every division this year except Edmonton and maybe Carolina had big name goalies.

And nobody was calling Edmonton a cup favourite. And the goalie issue was a notable concern for the canes.
Add a starter to a bubble team even and you have a chance.
