I can't wait for Mr. Kim to introduce Ezra and Hera to Din Djarin and Grogu.
I'm mad at myself because I know I'll come right back to see this happen, despite consciously resenting a lot of what Disney is doing with this universe.
I can look past the writing, plot holes, inconsistencies, zombie storm troopers, and BS cliffhangers. But I have trouble with a lot a of the acting.
My biggest gripe is Dawson. What is with that ridiculous smirk every single time a scene calls for tension, emotion, action, etc. Cause out comes that irritating smug expression. Was she a classmate of Charlie Hunnam at the Galaxy Quest school of acting? Cause he does the exact thing in any role I've seen him in. But at least Hunnam has charisma. Dawson/Ashoka's magnetism more closely resembles a block of wood.
Is it Dawson's fault? Is it a lack of direction? I don't know. Every week I'm more focused on that smirk and why it bothers me, and every week I'm left in a stupefied state and can't come up with an answer.

Its funny that you mention this because every female actor in this show did it which leads me to believe that it was direction.
Ahsoka was the worst for it, Sabine was not far behind and even Hera did it.
They spent most of the show with their arms crossed and smug smirk on their faces.
Why are you so smug? You did nothing to warrant this.

If you thought this season would have a happy ending, you haven't been paying attention.
I don't mind if they're bringing Abeloth in to the Disney Canon. The problem in the legends EU is that so many writers used the Jedi and the force as the ultimate out to writing problems. Have a huge imperial fleet with a super star destroyer at its head attacking the Jedi academy, have a bunch of students mutter "Size Matters not" and push the fleet out of the system. Need to do something cool have a Jedi pull a Star Destroyer out of the sky.
So what's the solution, bring a force god in that over powers the mega powerful Luke and Skywalker family. And they did a decent job with Abeloth as a credible threat. She could walk between realities. The EU had their own world between worlds with the world beyond shadows. You could have Abeloth take shapes of other people and multiple people at the same time. Have her consume Force users. these were all there and they created a uber being that Luke couldn't defeat on his own.
I fully expect that if they do bring in Abeloth the logical thing would be that Baylan awakens her, and at some point she possesses Shin who becomes the big bad of the season. And this is speculations, but Ahsoka eventually becomes the sister figure Shin becomes the brother figure and Anakin becomes the father figure and the force gets balanced.
All of this sucks. Every word of it. None of it sounds remotely watchable and it all sounds like it would make a terrible concept for either a TV show or a movie series. They need to stop with this. Make shows about people in this setting, who they are and how they live and interact, and not God-like heroes and villains and unfathomable, ultimate, galactic threats.

It kind of read like the synopsis of “The Matrix”, or that Jet Li movie, “The One”.

Personally I can't wait for the day when they finally have the balls to make a Star Wars show or movie series that doesn't have anything whatsoever to do with the Skywalker saga. Those stories have been told ad nauseam. It's over. It's time for Disney/Lucasfilm to move this universe into a fresh and different direction.
The first season of Mandalorian was exactly what I wanted from a new Star Wars story. I loved the western/sci-fi mashup of this unknown bounty hunter roaming the galaxy Mad Max-style and getting into adventures. Bringing Luke and Ahsoka into that series was fun to watch, I'll admit. But it was nothing more than pure fan service to appease all the angry nerds who hated the sequels. There was no need for the story to go that route, but now here we are with all of these interconnected shows and the whole thing has turned in the Star Wars version of the MCU, which is kind of annoying.
Andor is great because it's a series geared more towards adults with longer attention spans and tells a more sophisticated and intriguing story. Essentially a spy thriller with SW as the backdrop, and it made for some of the most riveting television I've seen in a while. The Ahsoka series doesn't even come close to that level of quality.

That was super weak. I actually thought there was more because as a finale that was super underwhelming.
There were too many scenes with "CGI things happening and actors staring at each other awkwardly" in this show. Many of the climactic elements felt more like cut scenes in a computer game than a compelling TV show.
Did they get this done before the writer's strike? Or was it just that bad? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Finally got around to finishing the last 2 episodes, and wow what a dud. They had like 2 hours of actual content that they stretched to 8 episodes, and if you've never watched the animated stuff then none of it makes any sense. As a kid the Thrawn trilogy was easily my favorite part of the Star Wars EU, and hearing that he was going to be in this piqued my interest. But surrounding him in all this mystical nightsister bull#### was just so stupid. Zombies are now Star Wars canon? Ugh
Also if inter-galactic travel is as simple as daisy chaining a few hyperdrives together, why has no one ever though of doing that until now? I mean this is universe altering tech that they just throw in there for a minor plot device

Han Solo: Traveling through hyperspace ain't like dusting crops, boy! Without precise calculations we could fly right through a star or bounce too close to a supernova and that'd end your trip real quick, wouldn't it?

Or right through a capital ship. Wonder if we'll ever see that one again
I quite like the variation of the end credits theme at the end of the final episode:
It's otherwise the same as the regular end credits past 1:13, but it took until the final episode for me to bother listening in its entirety. It's quite pretty.

Jesus, I wish we got dialogue like this.
Now we've devolved into
They fly now?
They fly now!
They fly now.
(And many instances of lines in this show that were in a similar vein)

The honest trailer nailed it, even if it's done in jest.
I watched the Andor honest trailer after that, and by contrast very few jokes are made at the show's expense because it was actually an excellent show that raised the bar on average Disney Star Wars "simp" fare.
No offense to Filoni who is clearly trying to do something cool with Thrawn and the Mandoverse and pay homage to the EU, but I think that if the franchise is to be salvaged from the uninspired re-treads under disney future projects need to take a hard look at Andor, not to imitate or replicate it per se, but look at how it treaded new territory and was story-focused and not trying to string together enough nostalgia or bring enough lore characters to life to keep people watching.
