This has been quite an exhibition in cowardly coaching.

When McVay started coaching wasn't he extremely gutsy and risky with the play calling and going for 4th down conversions? I seem to remember that his first two or three years a lot of people were amazed by what he was doing. Why so conservative now?

Guess Aaron Donald was just supposed to fall down there and not hit Wilson at all.

I honestly don't know if it was actually on Donald. Another ram (possibly Floyd?) did make contact with the helmet, even though it wasn't much.

Also that holding call to erase a TD was much worse.

Welcome to refball!

^^^I don't think he ever had that risk taker reputation, but in the early years he was the league darling and they made the Super Bowl with a great offense. But I think he's always been pretty conservative in high leverage situations. It's just no one cares as much when you are winning a lot.

So Pete tried a 4th down gamble and failed.....kicked a FG and failed....this can only logically end with him punting from the Rams 28 on a 4th and inches.

I mean he has to be able to do better than this.

The 3rd and 22 run is just the chef's kiss of Pete Carroll cowardice.

I always wonder in a situation like that why you don't just Hail Mary it. Worst case is incomplete, then picked off, but there's also touchdown and penalty in play. A give up run hoping for seven missed tackles is certainly safe, but you might as well kneel cause you can always fumble if you want to truly be safe. But then you'd look like a coward...

Then pull him. It's third down and you are losing, you can't keep giving up.

Sure bring in a cold quarterback who hasn't played all year to throw a pass, lol

Well giving up and punting sure worked out well. Carroll is a relic of the past, this should be his last season there.
