VGK continues to impress. Cheering for Winnipeg, but hard not to like MAF and the team's work ethic.
Oh, and Marchessault's tacky lambo? That is the car of a d-bag. And his suit pants don't fit- I guess that is how dbags are dressing these days.

It's Vince Neil's car. He just lets him drive it.

This is why I like the juxtaposition of the "complete game" argument in a league with this much parity. Vegas had a lead and barely held on. A common perception from Vegas fans would be that the team won with a 40 minute effort.

What an amazing experience going to this game was.
So many notes I could take on what they're doing right (aside from winning) that could be implemented for the Flames with a new arena.
That may be the most fun I've ever had at a hockey game. Hockey in Las Vegas is legit.

He's doing well, but there's a reason the Pens stuck with Murray and it's not just age.

Fleury was outstanding in the 08 and 09 playoffs.

Transition speed + goaltending is everything now.
Even Edmonton had a half decent season on the backs of those two things.

Oilers are slow as F except for one guy...I will give you goaltending last season.

People (myself included) need to come to terms with Vegas winning the cup. I really don't think anyone can beat them. I don't think Winnipeg will; unless they can somehow elevate, but every time they do it seems Vegas does as well. I don't see Washington beating them, they can't handle the transition game and speed.
What's the coles notes on Tampa? Are they young/fast/skilled enough to win???

If its Tampa vs. Vegas, I'm all in on Vegas I'll say that much.
Honestly though I agree with Tron_fdc. Make peace with your god. The Knights are going to win it all.

It belongs to Lambo Las Vegas. They've been towing that car to practice and game arenas through the playoffs. That's the 2nd time they lent the car to Marchessault. Probably going to make him drive it every home game now that he's won both those games.

It's impressive how quickly you can get in an out of there (not that you'd want to). And everything is so close. I was back in my hotel room in 10 mins after one of the game where I had to fly out early the next morning.

The funny thing is that much of what makes the in-game presentation and atmosphere in Vegas good doesn't even need a new arena. The way they interact with fans before the game starts, the way they play replays of what just happened on the jumbotron while play is still happening, the way they make you laugh even when the team just got scored on, all the little things they do between plays and the intermission shows...this is all stuff that they're doing that you could do anywhere in the NHL right now.
T-Mobile Arena itself didn't blow me away when I was there for a regular season game. Yeah, there was lots of concessions (expensive ones, of course), and the outdoor balcony is brilliant, but I felt that the usual pain points were still there. There was still a 5-10 minute line for the bathroom, there was still concession lines, and there was still a crush of people entering and leaving at the same time. Those escalators were jammed when I was there.

After the first period the Jets started to take over that game. Vegas was physically outmatched and that was the first time I had seen Vegas really scramble in their own end for prolonged periods in this playoffs. The Jets play like that they win 9/10 times. Flower, a post, and a brutal Hellebyuck gaffe were the difference makers. Winnipeg doesn't need to play mistake free hockey, they just need to make sure they're not making neutral zone turnovers and they have to get pucks deep on line changes. VGK loves to hunt for odd man rushes, that seems to be where they get their offence.
I would be shocked if the Jets go down 3-1.

It's also crazy how popular Vegas is with the local kids (in Calgary). My 10yr old LOVES them for some reason, and so do all his friends. No idea why. I bought him a hat and a Fleury shirt, and he sleeps in it FFS.
I don't know what the appeal is, but I noticed this when they played the Flames. Seemed like half the fans cheering for them were under 13yrs old, which was weird.

quick burger from Shake Shack in NYNY, then 5 minute walk to the arena; then 15 minutes after the game I'm hitting the slots at Aria...all in a tshirt and jeans in mid-November. that's the experience we're not going to get locally no matter how fancy the dome replacement is. the only thing that was inefficient were the metal detectors before entering the building, but I'm sure it's gotten more streamlined since then.
