My goodness what a clown Boomer is. When you are on the radio you need to at least double check tweets for accuracy if you are going to pass them on over the airwaves as news. Embarrassing.
Anyone know what hour of the show this happened in yesterday? I'd love to hear it but would rather not listen to all 3hrs of yesterday's show. Thanks!
I heard it in the car on the way to work during the 7:00 hour probably between 7:15-7:30
That is about right, as I was commuting in to work as well.
In defense of Boomer, he did initiate the conversation with some trepidation. He seemed to think it looked legit (the original tweet from the Florida Panthers, lots of followers and lots of original tweets), but was concerned he was getting trolled. As it turned out, he didn't look at the date. He knew he was an idiot and basically proved it. It wasn't about trying to scoop anyone, in my opinion.

O.K. there has been a lot of talk on whether or not MacTavish has actually done a good job for us, most fans on this board are very basic in their analysis and I feel would change their opinion entirely if the team was successful.

.@NHLFlames & @68Jagr continue to talk. I'm told that @SBennett93 is close to signing, something should give in the next 5-7 days on both...

This guy is also reporting Iginla to Oilers is getting done as well.
To my mind if this does come off as real it plays out like this.
With two lines pretty much set I see Bennett lining up with Jagr and Versteeg. That is a pile of experience for a 21 year old to have on hand, but to me it is the second unit powerplay where this signing would have the biggest impact.
Wideman to the Oilers too. I won't lie, I really wanted to see that.
Off topic, did Ed Whalen think wrestling was real? He always seemed more committed to the bit than the wrestlers
Nah, Ed just knew how to put on a show better than anyone I've ever seen. The guy just had a knack for it. I've never seen anything like it.
He wasn't even the best play by play guy, he just knew how to entertain while doing it. His tempo, tone, emphasis on certain plays; the guy could get you excited about things very easily.
Here's Pollock and Lownsbrough talking about their experiences with Whalen. The guy was special.

I think the Harts said he was a "mark" in the early years, but that the family had to "smarten him up" pretty quickly. By the time of that video (late 80s-ish?) he definitely knew it was all a work.
