UPD: NHL announces Scott WILL captain the Pacific team

I must be an outlier...

I've always enjoyed all-star games & skills competitions, and I excited to see the 3 on 3 this year.

Honestly I'm good with Jon Scott playing, and everybody having fun with it.
(Just like I liked seeing the players lit up for the draft last year)

I get it's meaningless, but its fun and shows some personality - which is more than I get in the intermission interviews.

I'm glad the NHL is doing this guy a solid. It's really not his fault. Question though: normally players wear their team jerseys, so what jersey will scott wear?

This whole situation makes me think of when all the cool kids in school ( the nhl fans ) scheme to have the hottest girl (the NHL all stars ) ask the slow kid (John Scott )to the prom ( NHL All Star Game ). They all conspire to name them King and Queen but there is the captain of the football team ( Gary Bettman ) who does not feel right about it because the slow kid is his cousin. When it comes time for the spot light dance for the King and Queen, the captain knows he should tell his cousin it is all a joke but he does not because he is worried about his reputation in the school. He just stands by and watches as when they go to dance a group of kids runs over and pulls the slow kids pants off and runs them up the flag pole and everyone laughs.

Apparently he is hoping to wear the St. John's Ice Caps jersey, if the league will let him. It certainly would fit with his penchant for self-deprecation.

Looking back at that it was stupid, and we did vote like idiots, and we weren't nearly as funny as we all thought we were.

Sure it seemed like a bunch of fun at the time but we ruined what was a serious competition for a lot of people by jumping on the bandwagon of a random person that none of us even knew.

If I was involved in that competition, or had a family member involved in the competition, I probably would have been pretty pissed that a random group of ppl took the voting over.

In retrospect we look like a bunch of ######bags in that thread. A guy tried to come and rig it by asking for our help, and instead we rigged it for somebody else screwing over all the other participants.

How dare you. That was one of CP's greatest moment. Hang your head in shame. Deep down I know you don't mean it, so I forgive you.
