Trudeau's team deserves a lot of credit as well. They ran a pretty positive campaign and I think Canadians responded to that. I think he was also able to coax more young people to vote. It will be interesting to see the voter turnout numbers when they are out.

But yeah, Harper drove his ship into the rocks. He has been governing like crap for a while now and then his whole campaign was an embarrassment. When the election was called, it was still within his reach to win.

Yup. Trudeau hit all the major points

Senate, Clarity Act, Niqab - let the Supreme Court decide.
Harper doing everything in secret and not talking to reporters / Trudeau will have a open government and will be nice to reporters.
Mulcair will balance the budget / Trudeau will spend on cities

Just a perfect campaign.
