Video of my favorite moment during the post game celebrations: Brad Treliving greeting the players in the tunnel.

Everyone still have their liver?

I went running around the bar after the empty netter hugging everyone in a Flames jersey.

My god, that line of Gaudreau - Monahan - Hudler is so smart, so crisp with their movement and passes. Between Gaudreau getting the puck just north of the faceoff circle the puck was barely on any of their three sticks for a combined second.

EDMONTON - ATB Financial is celebrating the Calgary Flames making the playoffs by lighting its headquarters in the NHL team’s colours.

Trouble is, the financial institution’s headquarters are in the heart of Edmonton, where Oilers fans are busy grumbling about sitting another spring out of the post-season.

“Congratulations to Calgary, to their captain Mark Giordano and to the players and management and fans in Calgary,” said Dave Mowat, ATB Financial president and CEO, who went on to address the potential awkwardness of cheering on the Flames by lighting up part of the Edmonton skyline.

“There is great rivalry between Calgary and Edmonton, and we don’t expect that to ever go away. But there were lots of so-called experts who said they wouldn’t make it. That kind of talk has never been what Alberta is made of.”

ATB Financial has used Giordano and Oilers winger Jordan Eberle in its advertising.

ATB Place was emblazoned in Flames colours Thursday night when the team clinched its first playoff berth in six years, spokesman Barry Strader said.

The tower’s LED lights will also be fired up tonight and on nights the Flames play.

He acknowledged the gesture could rub some Edmontonians the wrong way, but said it was important to applaud an Alberta-based team.

The building was lit up in Calgary Stampeder colours when the CFL team won the Grey Cup and has celebrated the Alberta curling team during the Scotties, he said.

“With Calgary making the playoffs for the first time in six years, we wanted to celebrate that because, after all, ATB is an Alberta company,” Strader said.

“Are we worried that Edmonton fans will riot? I don’t think so. There might be a few Edmonton fans who get their dander up by seeing Calgary colours on an Edmonton building, but it’s all in good fun and we’re definitely supportive of the playoff team that’s going to be representing our province this year.”
And I'm goin' up to Edmonton for the first time on Friday the 17th! Can't wait to wear my jersey in enemy territory and rub it in a little. I'll pray I won't get stabbed.

One last jab at Doughty:
Quote:
“I guess they’ve had success this year,” Doughty said
”I still don’t see them as some of the other lines in the league, that’s for sure.”
“But it’s nothing that we can’t handle,”
Gaudreau: 4G+4A
Monahan: 1G+3A
Hudler: 2G+5A
--------------------
Total: 7G+12A for 19 points in 5 games.

And Doughty finished -2 in the do-or-die game after making those comments.

the notion of playoffs was a joke...can you imagine if in October I told you Flames would have a shot at home ice on the last day of the season?

What if Ward said not only will the Flames make the playoffs they won't even be a wildcard and will have more ROW than the Chicago Blackhawks....he would have likely lost his job
