Is that photoshopped? If not, where and when is it from?

There's an MSG Network backdrop on the wall and blue and orange stripes on the wall, so I'd guess it's at the Islanders' arena.

The Jets visited the Islanders on October 28 and Kane didn't play in that game. That would be my guess.

At least in the short term the trade has certainly helped the Jets as Myers has looked really good.

Story behind the photo:

Where the heck did this photo come from?

It was taken on Oct. 28, 2014, as the Jets left the locker room at Nassau Coliseum to take on the New York Islanders. Trevor Hagan, who snapped it, is a freelance photographer that was on a rare road assignment with the Winnipeg Free Press.

What’s interesting about the image – well, one of many things – is that it wasn’t included in the photo gallery from the game. It only surfaced last week, when the trade went down. Editors at the Free Press were searching for a photo that had both players in it, and the archived image came up. They opted to use it in a “Key of Bart” music parody video about the trade and then posted it to Instagram.

From that point on, it went viral and has become the definitive photo of the players’ falling out. Which is something that admittedly makes Hagan feel uncomfortable, because the context of the image was lighthearted.

Kane was injured for the Islanders game. Hagan said he was riding an exercise bike as the Jets began filing through the dressing room hallway to the ice. He got off the bike and stood by rookie goalie Michael Hutchinson to fist-bump the players they hit the ice.

Last in line? Byfuglien. Kane reached out. Buff “basically pretends that Kane wasn’t there,” said Hagan. He keeps walking, Kane gives him as shove and Byfuglien then gives him the finger.

“He then nearly crushed me against a wall,” said Hagan of Byfuglien. “His jersey was about an inch from my lens.”

Hagan said the entire sequence was “all in good spirits” and that there was nothing “malicious” behind Byfuglien’s actions. “Kane was supporting he guys headed to the ice. He had a good laugh. Hutchinson had a good laugh. And it was just Buff being Buff. He’s the type that jokes around with the players and the fans.”

According to Yost at TSN advanced analytics show that Meyers is an albatross and was a major reason Buffalo sucked.

This will be an interesting clear cut case if advanced analytics are worthwhile

Really unfair article. Young top pairing dman on one of the worst scoring teams and worst defensive teams has bad advanced stats. Shocking

Looks right now like a huge win for wpg but we will have to see how Myers holds up and what Kane gets up to in buffalo In the next few seasons

But the point was the stats for a terrible team were worse when he was in the ice.

Your characterization of the article is also unfair

Maybe if Myers wasn't an overpaid bum who regressed after his first season, the Sabres wouldn't be such a bad defensive team the last few years.

It's truly amazing how many fans (and even front office types) are still blinded by size.

You should read and understand the article first before attempting to criticize it.

Kane admits difficulty adjusting to ‘fishbowl’ Winnipeg

Forward Evander Kane had a difficult time adjusting to playing in what he called “a fishbowl” of a hockey-mad city like Winnipeg, and felt a change of scenery was long overdue.

The fourth player selected in the 2009 draft will get the opportunity to enjoy a “fresh start” — a phrase Kane repeated three times during his introductory news conference Saturday — in Buffalo as a key piece on a Sabres team rebuilding from scratch.
Quote:
“Winnipeg is a very small town, but it’s a big hockey market. It’s a bit tougher than Vancouver or Toronto, where you can get away a little bit,” Kane said. “Being a Winnipeg Jet was something that everybody knew who you were. They always wanted to talk to you, which is great.”
And yet, he added: “Negative things can take a toll a little bit.”

Ya... nobody in Buffalo has paid any attention to the Sabres since Dominik Hasek was there. The perfect place to be if you're an idiot like Kane.

Stafford and Myers were stars in the Jets shut-out win over Washington last night.

I have never seen someone handle Ovechkin as well as Myers.

Stafford has to moving up in what he is going to get as a UFA.

Looking at the trade I think Stafford was just a pot sweetener.... firming up the Buffalo tank for McDavid. You might think that he was traded even up for 2011 6th round pick Kasdorff

And Kane was for the 3 1st round picks.
