The real question is why do posters care if they can see the name attached to a vote?
So someone can label them a sexist? It really doesn't matter who voted for what as long as you can see the total percentage for each choice.

Anonymous polls are the most accurate usually.

I haven't won anything. It's not about me as it's about freedom of choice. Freedom to be able to have a thread that maybe not everyone will love but a lot of posters will. This place like most internet forum sites is full of bullying and arguing and while it's totally fair for some to speak up with concerns with the thread due to it's controversial (to some) topic the fact is that is that it's one of the few threads here that isn't brought down by arguing and bullying. It's arguably the most peaceful thread in the entire site. Just pictures of beautiful women for people that choose to enter the thread can admire. Most are in unison that it needs to be moderated to ensure that it remains void of offensive pictures or comments but there's nothing in the thread that's R rated as everything there can bee seen on TV or in magazines. If a woman finds Maxim magazine or the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue offensive then I suggest she choose not to read it. Same with the thread.

If I was in favour of keeping the YLYL thread and voted that way, I'd be telling you to shut up right now, because you're honestly the exact type of poster in that thread that people are talking about when they want it gone.
was it really the photo in question, not the wife.

and if you havent been reading this thread, my comment wasnt the only thing people had issue with

We should probably get rid of the PM option then as well.

I voted:

I honestly can't see the problem with seeing votes.

In the option of shutting down the thread I would love to see the male/female percentage break down of the votes.

But it was a huge part.

You know what is actually kind of funny?
Your comment was a big deal, a lot of people found it offensive that you slagged Steve's wife, calling her (I believe the general words were) average, unimpressive, and generally not fitting to post in a "hot women" thread.

And yet, now that the side that believes it should be kept the same is up to 51%, you're in here strutting around like your team won the big game. I've got news for you. If you have an infection in 49% of your body, (aside from the fact you're probably dead) you need it treated. You don't say "51% of my body is fine!", you see there is a problem and you fix it. You didn't "win", the kind of stuff that you and others are guilty of was properly exposed. You, on a personal level, lost. You're "that guy".

I think this is actually a perfect example that some people, in fact, don't learn simply by public shaming or by self moderation. Because you don't appear to have learned a single thing.

Why should it be produced on an anonymous vote how many females voted for what? That's sexist in itself. I didn't see any instructions for "males vote here" and "females vote here".

What do posters have to fear?

That is just my opinion.
Some folks are always reluctant to share a viewpoint that is counter from the majority. This site can have a powerful groupthink component that makes things harder for dissenting views. I'm guilty of it myself.

If the poll isn't anonymous I wager there would be people who would not be comfortable voting.

To put things into better perspective over 75% have voted to keep the thread.

We have no way of doing this. We don't even know who all our female posters are.

Yep. I've taken a lot of insults over the years for not agreeing with the majority here. I'm not afraid to voice my opinion but I can understand other people not wanting to subject themselves to the public scrutiny that can go on here at times. I've been blessed with thick skin but realize a lot of people haven't and can take the criticism to heart.

Me included.

As I said, I suggested the "Keep it but make it more inclusive option."

Notice in my response to BBQ I didn't say "you cut off the infected limbs."

I'm happy having the thread around if changes are made. But if the mods think that 22% is important, which it is, and cut off the thread because of it that'd be ok too.

I said "mediocre" but you wont even bother looking up the post again, so here you are just making stuff up. Many have pointed to my post, but many have pointed to other comments that made them uncomfortable

Infection? If that's the kind of analogy you're using, the concept of a poll or voting system is lost on you.

you know whats even funnier is how ironic the public shaming or self moderation comment is. As a poster who's posted more than me and have been here for half my time. Are you sure you're not a returning poster?

Ok, then maybe expand on your meaning of the word "Mediocre"?
