Of course Rashford scored for England. So who sits now, Kane or Vardy? We know it's not Rooney...

Smalling or Cahill. Go with 3 at the back and just attack, attack, attack!

He's just on an insane run right now, even with the wrong pass (should have put Hendo through on the right) its ending up at his feet

he has to make the team, he's not starting but him and Vardy will both be options off the bench and I do see him getting in a game

still think the Euros are too early for Rashford. Wouldn't want such a young player to be crushed by the expectations and pressure. Would rather take the cautious approach and let him develop. Not like there's a huge need to throw him into the fire - Kane and Vardy were both unreal this season and there's Sturridge too.

he's undoubtedly making a case for being on the team though. High on confidence right now and definitely a special talent.

him making it is dependent on Sturridge not being fit, which it sounds like he isn't

also with no Barkley playing either game I wonder if he's the 3rd cut with Delph and Sturridge/Rashford, or most people thought Drinkwater

Drinkwater absolutely has to make the squad. If Dier is injured or needs to help out as CB, he'll be important.

Townsend should be the obvious 3rd cut IMO. Shouldn't have even made the prelim squad ahead of Antonio.

Rooney wearing #19 looks pretty odd. Nice strike though.

Hodgson thinks Wilshere is a holding midfielder, and also Milner can play there too

I wouldnt do it but Drinkwater has been average today so I could see it being him

id drop Barkley first, just because the team is stacked at attacking mids and he could use a bit of a wakeup

Townsend gives the team a pacey attacking winger, which depending on the game is a good plan B or C to have on the bench

Barkley is similar to what Alli or Rooney are going to offer behind the striker

I wouldn't put it past Roy, but it would be a moronic decision. If you start Dier as a holding midfielder / 3rd centre back then you absolutely need a backup who can play that position effectively. Drinkwater is the only one in the squad who can do that.

In some non-england news, Conte named his 30 man roster and no Balotelli, Pirlo or Giovinco.

No one seems to care about the former two but a lot of people on this side of the atlantic seem pissed that Giovinco wasn't included. Apparently no one in italy cares though since MLS is so far down on their priorities list.

People seem to be questioning quite a few of the other selections, wondering how in the hell italy is going to score and how their midfield will hold up with no pirlo, marchisio or verratti and being forced to rely on Motta and De Rossi.

Yeah - it's a pretty ugly midfield for Italy with no Pirlo, Marchisio, or Verratti.

Bit of a downturn in the quality of Italian football that's for sure.

If they have a good tournament it will be a complete surprise, not much quality on that team outside of the defence.

that defense should could easily be the best in the tournament though

if they dont go out in the group stages it might take penalties to do it

I'm not saying there's even such a thing as a free kick PED, but if there is Payet has to be on it right now. What a wizard
