Once the rivers breach there banks it takes a lot more water to raise the water level because you have so much volume to spill. So I am not sure that the 1000yr flood and the 100yr in terms of the area that gets flooded.

Getting close to the Peace Bridge. I'd like to think it is fine but any way we lose the Peace Bridge??? I cant imagine the horror/relief the city would feel.

The city needs to get its communication in sync. The CPS is saying on Twitter that all of Bowness is under an evacuation order, but the maps on calgary.ca show only very small portions, which affects only 270 residents.

What would be the best source for video and photos? And what about the Calgary Zoo?

City of Calgary @cityofcalgary 1m
Due to rising water levels the lower deck of Centre Street bridge has been closed. Be careful #yycflood
I am shocked it wasn't closed a long time ago.

At my mom's now. Looking around my little place, which is below grade, and then looking out the window and seeing water running in the streets at the level my chest/shoulders get to inside my place is a horrible feeling.
There's no way that my place isn't flooded within 2 hours at the pace that water was rising ... just starting to sink in now. Damn this sucks.

Westmount & Montgomery are now under evacuation. Please assist by checking your neighbors, and leaving and X on your door #yycflood #yyc

Any idea if it's all of Montgomery or just the parts closer to the river right now?

Sorry for any confusion, I didn't quote the initial post and didn't post fast enough to sit sequentially.
