Cap, I simply called you out on a stat, for which you said you don't have statistical proof. The conversation pretty much ended right there after you finally mentioned that. There's nothing more to this, so give it up.

I said I've seen him dive several times in his short tenure with the Flames, and that isn't the characteristic of a heart and soul player - in my opinion.

I haven't watched him enough to know how much of a habit it is throughout his career, but the fact he's done it several times in his short time here is enough for me.

Except it didn't end right there. Several posts later someone else provided the proof by posting a penalty (something I couldn't be bothered to do because I had no interest in looking up something to back up what I know to be true)...

and yet you continue. So at this point we know he's dove in the past.

And yet you still fail to answer the very simple question, because we both know the answer is "yes, you have seen him dive" which renders your entire time in this discussion as futile.

Fair enough. But when you suggest that someone is a "diver", you are classifying the player as someone who does it multiple times, and does it habitually with intent.

Semantics is another word you should look up.

I am saying Jones dove enough times in the few games we saw him play here for me to decide I don't think he's a heart and soul kind of player when we combine that with the other attributes of supposedly having an attitude problem and rarely hitting or blocking shots.

But at the end of the day, he's not on the team so it's irrelevant. Backlund coming back isn't going to remove Cervenka, so it's very likely we've seen the last of Jones in a Flames uniform for this season.

The fact he was demoted when were were desperately seeking centres speaks volumes as far as I'm concerned.

I never said he was useless to the organization. He is just fine playing for the Heat and his skill set is a good fit for the AHL. I said I wouldn't have him on the pro roster over Cervenka (something we both apparently agree on).
