A one loss sec team in it would be disgraceful this year. The SEC has not been very special this year and has been dominated by the ACC.

Ohio State with Wisconsin's loss today will have at most one top-20 win. Boise State is wondering what the hell they did to anyone back in the day because they played a tougher schedule. Hopefully Sparty takes care of this next weekend to leave no doubt. Auburn could beat #1 and #4 in back to back weeks. Can't believe they'll be left out. This is the problem with college football, its not who you beat its the number of losses. 1 loss against a top 20 team against only beating 1 top 20 team and the one loss team is punished. Just not fair really.

Yeah, but all those sec teams are overrated anyway. They aren't beating anyone in other conferences. There is really no great method of comparing teams who don't play each other with so few decent out of conference games. At least auburn controlled their destiny and had a path to the NC game. Not every team does. I do think they may have a chance to squeak in though if SC wins tonight.

Well you can look at the teams each team did played. Ohio State struggled against Northwestern, Michigan and Iowa, and they have 16 losses between them. They also haven't played a top 15 team this year or last year for that matter, but they finally will. Auburn might beat two top 5 teams in a row, and beat a top 10 ranked team on the road. Its just not apples and apples comparisons and the one loss team is obviously worse. Auburn played much better teams and has impressive wins. Ohio State doesn't.

They had their starting offensive line men out there blocking to make sure they had the best protection.
That game had a 99 yard TD pass and 100 (109 really) yard missed FG ran back to win the game.

Cody Kessler has to be one of the worst QBs in Div 1 - what a lame effort today against the Bruins

I wonder how safe fsu is. Their win against Clemson doesn't look so hot now and that's really all they have on their resume. They play Duke while the other teams play good teams. If the rape allegations pick up steam it could hurt them as well. Seems like a pretty tight 3 way race between the SEC champ and the two unbeatens.

The rape stuff looks like a serious cover up by TPD. Famous Jameis will be arrested but it wont be until January 7th

Their win against Clemson is miles better than anything that Ohio St. has done this year.
They had a good year to go undefeated as a lot of the better teams than them lost already so they look like they get a free ride into the NC game thanks to not playing anyone.

Well it still sticks a couple hours later. It's pretty much impossible to complain as a fan though. They had a bad game and the run, and likely the SEC’s is over. There have been a few sketchy games this year though. I wish any of the other teams I cheered for could give me the fun I've had as a Tide fan. I hope one day I can be this zen over a huge Flames loss because of all the recent success we've had. That would be awesome.
As for this Winston thing, it's got a lot of bad optics. And if nothing happens until after the NC game, then oh man.

I disagree. Michigan State has the top defense in the country. However, I also think Ohio State losses to them next week.

Ohio State needs a certain type of win to lock it up. Namely anything under 21 points should ensure they don't go. They haven't played a remotely good defense this year, and while some will say Michigan State is #1, that's a by-product of the horrific Big 10 they play in. Notre Dame is the only sort of good team MSU has played, and they lost to them.
As I said before I would hope the fair examination of the teams total resumes, and more importantly the wins achieved, would make it obvious Auburn deserves to go if it wins out. 3 top ten wins, 2 not at home, 2 top 4 wins and the only loss to a top 15 school is substantially more impressive than undefeated beating and playing only 1 top 10 school, and only 2 ranked teams and one of those over a team who went on to lose 8 in a row. Seriously, that's their second most impressive win, a win over a team who didn't even finish over .500. Ohio State is Notre Dame redux. By OSU fans logic if Florida State loses Saturday and OSU wins, it should be Northern Illinois versus Ohio State in the NCG, if records trump resumes.
Is it OSU's fault the Big 10 sucks so bad? Nope, just as it wasn't Boise State's or TCU's fault they didn't get in for their similarly weak schedules. But the Big 10 does suck badly, and the irony of the school who's president mocked BSU and TCU as playing the "Little Sisters of the Poor" would be left out for playing the same "LSOTP" schedule is just too good. Go Sparty, please leave no doubt. Nobody wants a 55-14 NCG.
