When I heard Bill was going to do an Afterburner about his visit to Toronto, I expected him to go off on the fact that the Toronto area is home to several Islamic gated communities and that the two cities that border the west side of the airport (Brampton and Mississauga) are Indian and Islamic colonies. The final straw IIRC, wasn't just personal attacks, it was attacks at people who've help build this site and helped the site. During the 2004 lockout Tod Button was more then kind enough to sit down and do a series of simple fan interviews with me. The amount of information, actual hockey information was amazing. Yeah 2004 wasn't that long ago, but for those who remember it, it was a lot different from even now for information. You didn't have access to all the AHL games streaming if you wanted, we were really limited it what we could see.
Angry at me, Lanny took a huge shot at Button (and me) making some over the top comments about the interviews and Button sitting down to do them. It wasn't an attack at Button's job, but the situation. It was ridiculous. The guy was and probably still is a massive moron.
I don't remember if that was the final straw or if he was allowed back after that and banned again but yeah, it really just put me solidly in the why the heck is this guy here group. I know table 5 and some other lament the fact he doesn't post here anymore but IMO he can eff off and never return.
He was also a loose screw conspiracy nut too and made some wild claims about his life that was just silly.

Ah yes, I do remember something about that. Was posting under a different username back then(surprise), and wasn't involved much in the FOI section.
Lanny took a lot of potshots at me too, and it ticked me off to high heaven that posters who agreed with his point of view didn't see a problem with his trashing of somebody when he disagreed with them.
I have a faint suspicion that he made a personal attack against Bingo, and after that he was banned. That would explain why he got banned again after he came back under a different name, when others are allowed to stay.
I liked to go back and forth with him too, but I agree that his inability to argue the facts and not the person makes me glad he's gone.
