Of course you could also get a lawyer buddy to send him a letter in his firm's letterhead.

$2000.00, just went thru this myself.
I think given T5's circumstance (uncooperative third party) they would take report regardless of amount.

You would think so. But that is why I added that he should report as a hit and run.

Its not a huge amount of damage (about $800-900 worth to refinish paint)....I believe the police limit is $2000 right? Should I still report to the police? Wouldn't it better to report it to his insurance?
I have no lawyer buddies unfortunately....at least not in Canada. Oh and apparently the guy works in a legal office, and said his partner handles this kind of stuff all day. The first part seems true (according to his voice mail at least).
I do have a witness and voicemail/phone records where he doesn't implicitly state that it was his fault, but has him talking about giving me a counter offer. I'm no lawyer, but why would you offer to pay part of something if it wasn't your fault?

The CPS won't report it to his insurer but once he comes in you can get a copy of the police report and it will have his insurer's information on it.
I would reach out to your witness and let him know of the trouble and try to get something in writing from him, just so you have it in you backpocket.

The problem with reporting it as a hit and run is then you run the risk of being charged with filing a false report. And that would be easy to prove since the other party likely has some proof that they exchanged info.
Once you have been proven as having been lying in a traffic case, it's no longer your word against his. It's his word pretty much alone.

By the time the police figure that out he will have shown up at the station....
Also, I reckon if someone hit's your vehicle than does a "runner" when it comes to paying, that could fall into the H&R catagory.

Also if he is in the legal profession, then I would reckon TD is his insurer. They have a group deal.
You have his name, vehicle and phone number.
Call TD yourself and report it.

Okey dokes, I better call up the witness then.
I was really hoping this could've been dealt smoothly without any paperwork, but I guess that's not gonna happen....
If only the old knew how to shoulder check.

What's with dog shaming? Is it some sort of internet meme? A joke gone viral? Some sort of hipster dog raising philosophy? Or do people actually think that it's teaching a dog something? Seems like the equivalent of making a 6 month old take a 'time out'.

I keep getting similar correspondence from Kramer Mazda. I want to know if they actually want used 3's, or if they're just trying to sell new vehicles. The wording always sounds a little 'scammy' to me, "Great news, your (insert used car you own) is in high demand, and as such you are entitled to awesome trade in benefits if you buy a new car!"

They all do that. Renfrew started asking me to trade in the Jeep within 45 days of driving it off the lot.

As long as you ignore undercoverbrother's repeated suggestions to mis-report/lie about what happened to the police in order to get a better response from them, you should be fine.

Hey police, can you come to my house, my neighbor just murdered someone on my property.
Alright guys, glad your here. Wow, huge turnout, this must be half the force, lol. Anyhoo, he didn't actually murder anyone, but now that I have you guys here, check out this fence he built, and compare it to the property line I have drawn here. I mean this is bull****, is there anything you guys can do about this?

I donate regularly and have asked this and have been told that, yes, they test all blood and if something is amiss, they will let you know.

(I know you're not serious.)
But, if anyone actually did this, I hope the caller is charged with something. It's a municipal/land matter and has nothing to do with the police. It's also a waste of resources.
Does anyone know when you wear a collared shirt under a lower-cut sweater, it is proper to wear the collar inside or outside of the sweater?
