After some updates on the apps the sound is working. Still miffed about google maps though, guess ill have to wait until an app is released for it.

I actually quite prefer the un-bundling of the Google apps - not because I don't use them (I have Chrome installed to boot), but because you couldn't remove the ones you didn't use at all when Apple bundled them.

The gf got the new iPad so I was playing around with it for a while, and you can't "save as" links (pdfs, ppt etc)?
What?

I may be misunderstanding what it is you want to do, but generally you just open the pdf or ppt and look for the "arrow popping out of the square" icon which symbolizes the "open with" function. Once opened, the document is automatically saved within the app.

I think, if I understand FoL, which I very rarely do, he would open a link in a browser such as this one:
http://www.ttc.ca/Routes/General_Inf...aps/System.jsp
Where there are multiple pdfs down at the bottom. He'd like to save the legend.pdf without opening it. Once you open it, you have a number of options... open it in Adobe Reader, mail it to yourself, throw into iBooks... but FoL would like to save the file WITHOUT opening the link. At least that's what I think he is getting at.
I don't know if that is limited to Safari.... I know some browsers have DropBox integration and FileManager integration.

Yes DA that's what I meant, thanks. Which (free) app/bowser with file management would you recommend?

You would have to open it. I would recommend dropbox. When you open the pdf one of the options that hover at the top is "open in dropbox" which is worded incorrectly... it just saves it in dropbox.

Thanks. I still find the user interface/file management to be quite cumbersome but the screen is damn amazing and makes up for all the trouble.

Looks like it'll come in red, orange, purple, vomit... Maybe blue?
But wouldn't be surprised for Apple to release a whole new set of accessories to really push the color aspect.

They're streaming today's launch, what's the over/under that it'll actually work?

Live streaming video requires Safari 4 or later on Mac OS X v10.6 or later; Safari on iOS 4.2 or later. Streaming via Apple TV requires second- or third-generation Apple TV with software 5.0.2 or later.

Have to make sure the valuable bandwidth only goes to the clean, pure and deserving.

Hm I kind of regret getting a MBA to replace our dead laptop now, should have waited for this.
This would be a lot more expensive though.

Well I was hoping they would release a 13" MBP with retina display but now I am torn between a new Windows 8 device with a touchscreen and this.
