I think Lawrie comes up as soon as June hits, I think they are basically just making sure he isn't a Super 2, mid May is usually where the cutoff falls for those guys and you put off arbitration for a season and keep control over the player longer. This isn't a contending season and there's no reason to hurt the team 6 years from now for punting Edwin two weeks early.

When AA was getting interviewed on the broadcast last night he summarized Encarnacion's season as very disappointing all around and it made me think it is just a matter of time. As hard as it is to watch him play, at least the contract is reasonable and he gets a hit here and there. The lazy D and constant pop flies are frustrating though and it was one of Alex's worst moves committing to him as the starting 3B this season.

I'd rather have a guy like Lawrie up, killing himself to make a play and making an odd throwing error than E5 not even getting down and in front of grounders and I think it will happen in a matter of weeks.

Litsch has a career WAR of 3.6, WHIP @ 1.3, and twice as many strikeouts as walks in addition to being an above average fielder.

What do you ask of him to be not be "balls" or not "suck" ?

Litsch is what he is, a bottom rotation guy with moderate stuff who stays in the majors by throwing strikes. When he doesn't do that, he is "balls" and taxes the hell out of the bullpen. Don't mind the guy, though his conditioning and control prevents him from going deep in games.

...officially too much Jesse Litsch talk....

Well after "stinking" it up for 5 games Bautista is back on the home run wagon. 2 dingers, and 4 RBI today, 3 hits. Unfortunately my fantasy opponent this week owns Bautista.

He is a reason to watch the Jays though, his HR/AB is just crazy 18 home runs in 132 AB's. Thats a .545 slugging percentage on Home Runs only against all his at bats.

He's ridiculous. I made a prediction for 35 home runs for him this year in the hopes that it would be conservative, at this point he's going to make me look like a complete fool.

Losing a series to the worst team in baseball makes me want to uppercut a baby.

If the Jays had 2 .350 OBP bats more in the lineup, we'd probably be the best team in baseball (we've lost 10 games by 1 run, 2 bats make 5 of those possible wins instead of losses)

Can't wait till Lawrie comes up, and maybe we can go get someone else.

If the team could get Lind and Bautista in for the same games it might benefit them. I mean Aaron Hill and his 0 home runs on the season are backing Jose Bautista today. But no doubt the current group of 3B's are pretty much daring the team to bring up Lawrie. The production from that position has been woefull.

Really though this is a team who have taken their two best pitchers out of their lineup, including a guy who's definitely one of the 5 best in the majors yet are still hanging around .500. They've cut on field player costs a lot, and really haven't seen it affect their record in an adverse way.

It's amazing that he pretty much put's every mistake that pitchers make into the seats. It's not that easy to hit a baseball out of the park.

Why are the Jays trying to steal bases with Bautista at the plate? Why?

That and playing E5 at third again, to go along with Aaron Hill in the clean up spot with no home runs vs the Astros, WTF John Farrell?

It was pretty ridiculous but they think Hill is crap and would hit into a DP (he did hit a ground ball but it found a hole)

that kind of effort is all you can ask from a guy moving from the pen to make a start in that type of circumstance. Great job, now hopefully it doesn't take the 'pen long to recover.
