Norm was on Howard Stern this morning to apologize and explain that his comments should not be construed that he is not sympathetic to victims in the #metoo movement.
Jimmy Fallon's 5th anniversary show was an homage to The Larry Sanders Show. I wish I had seen the entire show because the clips available on Youtube are brilliant. The first clip is embedded visibly but the other clips have been spoilered for length.
Spoiler!

I'm going to miss Carson Daly's show. I really liked his new format with the pre-taped interview segments and the music performance in the middle. I also liked how they booked more obscure guests, ones who would normally never appear on a late night show. I recall there was one show a few months ago with Luca Guadagnino and Mo Amer. And they featured many great indie bands on the show to boot.
Noah made the announcement during the taping of tonight’s show, to his studio audience. (Watch video below.)
Noah shared during Thursday’s taping that when recently reflecting on his seven-year anniversary with the show, “One of the overriding feelings I found myself experiencing… was a feeling of gratitude… There are so many people who make this thing come together, and I want to say thank you to the audience for an amazing seven years. It’s been wild. I remember when we first started, so many people didn’t believe in us. It was a crazy bet to make. I still think it was a crazy choice… What a journey it’s been.”

Thank god! The Daily Show has been unwatchable since he took over, hopefully somebody who is funny first takes over
Pre covid it was pretty good and he was quite funny. The working from home was pretty hit or miss but mostly a miss and the new format now is pretty awful. I really don't enjoy it now primarily because it seems like they try to make the jokes and humour and delivery way too over the top.
I saw a lot of promos about the full Talking Heads original members playing Colbert tonight. I don't think they've played together in decades, so was pretty excited. But just saw they canceled Colbert for the week because he has COVID.
Taylor Tomlinson has been hired to host the show that follows Colbert. She’s young and funny so hopefully she can breathe some life into late night.
It's going to be a reboot of the Comedy Central show @Midnight, which was hosted by Chris Hardwick.
The new version will be called After Midnight (since it won't be on at midnight). I don't know if there will be any other significant changes to the format (for example, will it be an hour long instead of a half hour, and will it have more talk show elements than the original which was primarily a quiz show).

Wow she is pretty energetic and funny, but Leno was also great at stand up and milquetoast as a TV host (the safe bet) so I wonder how this would translate to that format and if it depends on talk it would really hinge on her interviewing skills.

NBC cut the 8G band from Seth Meyers's show. That sucks because they're great musicians from cool bands. They were given a send off last night and performed "Makes No Sense At All" with Bob Mould.
