I think it was in Independance Day when Will Smith happened to stumble across his stripper Ex girlfriend walking around. I'll bet that happens a lot in a city of 10 million people.

Transformers 1 was gay, so gay I did not see the second one and its overall gayness was only surpassed by iron man. How those movies are so successful is beyond me.

After reading up on this movie I'm excited to see it. Its no independence Day or a District 9.

Even the aliens are fairly gruesome and menacing.

Between this and Skyline, I think everyone suddenly has a hard-on for the much maligned Bayformers.

Gay? I think you were watching Transgenders, not Transformers.

Transformers sucked.

The 2nd one was probably the worst movie i have seen in a year or 2.

Usually true.. but maybe if the love interest has her head blown off and the child actor is ingested by one of the aliens it could salvage the whole movie.

As long as the pre-req love interest sub plot-line that no one cares about doesn't make my eyes roll into the back of my head I'll be happy.

I know I said I was going in with low expectations but I'm still excited dammit... there should be at least 2 or 3 alien invasion movies a year and 2 or 3 zombie movies a year... and maybe a combination of the two at some point.

Aliens invade a zombie riddled earth with a small band of human survivors somehow taking out both sides with hijacked alien tech mixed with mystic zombie virus? Sounds good to me.

i really think the storyline from Quake 2 and 4 could be made into an excellent sci-fi movie. humanity advances to spaceflight, gets embroiled into a massive two-faction WWIII which leaves the planet devastated, then the aliens invade. and the aliens are a collective hive mind so brutal and ruthless that they make the Borg look like care bears

it's just too bad that the Quake II universe isn't that well known, and the rule of game movies means that it would suck balls if it ever actually got made

After the Doom movie destroyed the video game, a Quake movie would probably be directed by Michael Bay, and the main character would be played by Shia Labeouf.

It this movie about an alien invasion or about people interacting during an alien invasion?

PS: I haven't bothered reading the rest of the thread, but the answer to my question determines whether or not I watch this movie.

I don't know, but hopefully it has to do with invasion and not interaction during an invasion. Because interaction during invasion would be skyline, which was beyond bad.

For those that have been following the movie up until this point can anyone comment on how the aliens look (if they show them)? I want to go with the lady but she gets a bit scared when it comes to monsters/aliens that type of thing and it's probably not worth the expensive ticket (I want to go see it in an IMAX theatre or the fancy Cross Iron Mills theatre) if she's covering her eyes all the time.

Gruesome

I've seen pictures of the clay markups, and the standins on set without CGI, and unlike the aliens in ID 4 with the stupid suits and the ferret faces. These aliens look like soldiers.

Looking forward to this one. Wishing it was available in 3D however.

Without ruining too much you will want to see this:
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0339840/

It is pretty cheesy and some over the top scenes but it is entertaining.

As long as she is wearing something tight and skimpy, who cares...

Really? I'm glad they didn't ruin another movie by putting on terrible 3D effects and jack the price of the movie up $5.
