Men: Would you choose a male or female doctor for a testicle exam?

I'd have to say male if it was me, just based on keeping the embarassment factor to a minimum. Plus, I just trust someone who owns the same "tools" as me more if that's where they're looking. I'm sure a female doctor is more than fine for this type of thing, but I'd def feel a lot more relaxed about it if it was a guy.

And I am going to choose a female after what people in this thread posted about it not being sexual at all, but I don't think there is a problem with me being worried or emberassed if it does happen.

It's a little different when a nurse is giving you a sponge bath. Doctors are all about the business and the inspection is pretty routine and menial. To them its just another body part - no different than if it were your finger or ear.

On the whole I'd say most male patients are more comfortable with a male physician doing the examination. Maybe its because guys have no problem walking around in the buff in the men's locker room. There's probably much more of a subconscious comfort level there too, as you know the guy doing the exam can relate better mentally and physically.

Be a man and get on with it. There certainly isn't anything sexual about it from the physician's perspective - be it a male or female.

I have my (male) doc check my prostate every year now . . . . not fun and definitely socially awkward but over quickly enough. You know, it's just not a great activity to begin with so really, it probably doesn't matter if it's male or female.

Check out last few week's of Bored To Death with Ted Danson's character getting checked out by a good looking female doctor, with some hilariity . . . . . and finding out after some tests he has Stage 2 prostate cancer.

Another thing to consider with the ultrasound is that, for me at least, they pretty much draped the whole area and just left the balls out. So it isn't like you're laying there spread eagle with nothing on at all. There are gowns, sheets, etc. so you still feel somewhat covered.

Maybe your choosing female because what you're REALLY afraid of is being aroused by a male.

I'm curious though as to how you actually get a choice... I'm assuming you'd be able to request a male, but allowing a male to choose a female seems a little odd.

I used to date a chick that worked for Calgary Lab Services. Her job was taking blood, but CLS took different samples, as well.
Often, people would get sent into the room for a urine sample. A few times, the jar contained seamen, but once, someone actually provided a stool sample instead. I do not know how they got the skat into the jar, but, I was impressed as I heard about it.

Oh, and I went for a physical when I was around 25 to a female Doc from India originally. When she was looking at my junk, she told me that I had a nice penis.

Its not the awkwardness of popping a boner. Its the whole doctor disinterest to me.

when I was having my heart problems a few years back, my cardiologist was incredibly hot(and I found out later that she was close friends with one of my sisters).

anyways I was laying on the exam table in those stupid backless gowns, and the doctor informed my that she was going to take my groinal pulse. She wiped up my gown, slapped aside my pride and joy like it was nothing and took my pressure, then she covered my up and started making notes.
