^It's better than what was there before the edit. I believe Wolven II made a polite suggestion that the board owner find a different board to post on.

alltherage has quite helpfully illustrated* my original point about swearing. All too often we get offended by the wrong things. Context is far more important than the actual words themselves. If swear words are used in a humorous, non offensive manner, ie in a jokey manner, not aimed to insult or denigrate, I don't see a problem with that, within reason. I do have a problem with people who simply resort to name calling as inferred by alltherages's NSFW image. That is intended to insult and abuse and it is in that context that such actions/words should not be tolerated.

However I accept that my view (it is just a view) on this is at odds with the way the Board is run and therefore it is up to me and not the Community as a whole to change.

You just went against everything you have said in this thread with this one sentence.

If YOU can't tell if he was joking or if he meant to offend you then how do you expect the mods to analyse each swear word to know if the person was joking or if they actually meant to insult the person?

Nobody but ATR knows what his intentions were, and that's why swear words are not allowed. Pretty simple really.

I was just saying that arguing with the mods, especially pho seems pretty bunk. They make the rules, plain and simple.

Arguing with mods is fine in all other contexts but the rules are the rules.

Also, I "NSFW'd" my d-bag post, so you had to know it would be offensive to some.

Strictly speaking that image probably shouldn't be allowed anywhere on the board except the funny picture thread which has a bit of an exemption to allow profanity and stuff to be hidden behind a NSFW tag. That wouldn't be ok in the regular forum, context or no context.

Refer to the tuba story for some reasons why. If you can't translate the tuba story into real information, then it will ever be inaccessible.

That is more than 7 words.

The last 3 you listed are from a Blink 182 song.

####, piss, ####, ####, ##########, mother####er, tits are 7 dirty words.
