Ya well he isn't American either. He refuses to produce a birth certificate. Also, have you noticed that no Muppets died on 9/11. How did they all know to stay away from the towers? Who told them?

The first step to make things better is a discussion.

Is this thread an example?, or were we having this discussion last week too?

Is it often that a hearing happens and two days later things have improved? "Now kindly show me where this" has happened before.

In order to have a discussion someone has to be listening. That hasn't happened in this thread. Furthermore when this thread is done no one here will being changing their lives or these illegal immigrants lives. It is highly doubtful that people will remember this thread a month from now. So i'll pose the question back to you: How have you or illegal immigrants benefited by your participation in this thread?

Steven Colbert failed to address the concerns of those in Congress who oppose handing citizenship out to these illegal immigrants. They are not going to be moved by Steven repeating a few of the illegal's lobbyists points in a funny way.

I learned more about the plight of the illegal immigrant farm workers in America. This means that I will be able to make a more informed decision when I decide if I support them or not.

For me, because I am not American my support (or lack of support) wouldn't mean much. However I assume there were a large number of people in th US who learned just as much, or more than me, who would then be able to make a more informed choice.

Do you think Rosa Park's solved all of the problems related to discrimiation of blacks in America? No, but she sure raised awareness. Same deal here, but I assume the jokes were a bit better than Rosa's.
