You know, I don't even like dogs and this made me angry. To treat something/someone that is dependent on you in such a manner really angers me. Disgusting. Glad that their weekend was ruined.

Good on you for being responsible here!

In many locales it is illegal to tether dogs for more than a couple of hours at a time....and that's in nice shady backyards with food and water.

You know what i thought was interesting was the fact that the original poster thought it must have been a male that has committed this stupid act.

It is really sad that society is comfortable that the bad person must be a male. Imagine if the poster had put a colour/race description instead.

I came home last night, about 1am, to have a dog running towards my girlfriend at the passenger side of my car. After the initial shock, and getting my GF back into the car, we ascertained the dog was very friendly. We looked for a collar, nothing. She was running up to all the cars that stopped at the 4-way near my apartment.

I decided to take her to the animal hospital, where the admin folks mentioned a women was looking for her dog. She said that the women had left the city. Perhaps it was the same lady.

The dog I found doesn't look the MIA dog, more of a sheppard-lab X and she was chipped. Appartently, the MIA dog was tattoed aswell. I hope she gets home soon. I live in the Kingsland, near Macleod and 70th ave.

The missing dog did not have a collar and was not chipped, due to being from outside of Calgary.

This is awesome!! And just to add another point on dogs, my wife encountered a similiar situation a couple weeks ago at North Hill Mall.

A dog was in a car with the windows closed as my wife went into Safeway, shopped, and got back to our car. She called 311 first and they said that in case of a CLOSED vehicle Bylaw wont help and that you need the Fire Department non emergency line (403-264-1022). They have the tools to smash windows apparently...Bylaw didnt show up when the Firemen got there and they told Kat she could go.

Good work!!

Right now it's 60. But the past week it's been approaching 82 now and then.

I hope someone finds that poor doggie safe. It always upsets me to see/hear of a dog on the loose and about in traffic.

Meh thats not too bad my house is set at 83* and the dogs are fine then. But I know it's besides the point. Why in the world would you tie up your dog in the back of a truck.

Hell my dogs get the whole spare bedroom. We just close the door and they hang out on the spare bed.
