Downtown Toronto, near the lake (G20 zone) and barely felt anything. About 2 kms north my sister said her office was shaking like crazy.

Just checking on the Robyn Regehr rumour from beneath the rubble!
Damn, no change... I might as well rest under here for a bit.

I was working in my home office in Waterloo. Felt my chair start to move, took my hands off my desk and the chair literally rumbled backwards a meter.
Thought I was going out of my mind until my neighbor popped by to see if it was them that was going crazy.
Cool to experience, and glad it was mild vs something like Haiti.

It was actually a neat experience.
I hope no one was hurt or else I would really feel bad right now.

Awesome, I'm heading to the egomaniacal earthquake shaken, anarchist making, terrorist faking center of the universe tommorrow.
Maybe I needs to bring my camera.

I was on a call at work and didn't feel a damn thing unfortunately. Probably too preoccupied on my computer or something, but when everyone around you and clients on the phone start asking you if you felt it, you feel like you missed out on the best experience ever. Damn being on the first floor.

I would hate to think of what kind of absolute terrified panic would happen if we had a 6.0 earthquake in Ottawa considering how batsh*t crazy people went for a 5.5.
- the fire department was absolutely flooded with false alarms caused by panicked people pulling fire alarms
- the earthquake hit in the early afternoon (2pm?) and 50% of the workers in my building ran out into the street. From the looks of the news stories that was LESS than most. Many didn't go back inside out of fear of aftershocks, and instead drove home. As if being in an earthquake-safe building is LESS safe than driving home when hit by an aftershock.
- the news stories are filled with people saying "I was sure I was going to die."
I mean, come on.... the shakes were not knocking things off shelves or causing widespread serious damage. I get bounced around more on public transit. It doesn't take much to make people panic around here.
